Any other vintage collectors of Parkers, American Blade, Taylor, United Boker, Frost, or STAR brands out there?

Am far from an expert on these brands, but I do own a few!  I typically have gone "straight to the horses mouth", with many of my questions answered by Buzz Parker.  Have another friend, who I would consider experienced with '80s SEKI produced brands.  Drop me  line, or a question anytime please!  Thanks.

Steve,

Great pics of some awesome knives

Wow, NICE!

They captured me with the unusual handle and distinctive finger guard. Always looking for them.

That is some nice looking cultery.  I can remember back about 35 or 40 years ago when people

were selling Parker Frost brand knives by the dozen.  They were well made knives, looked good

but people always said that the problem was they were made in Japan.  At the same time you

could find C.I. brand knives usually lockbacks with holes drilled in the stainless steel handles.

A friend of mine liked them because he said they were the sharpest knife out of the box that

he had ever owned and kept a good edge.  I do not know if they were made in Seki but they were

stamped "Japan".

As far as the Parker and Parker Frost knives went those that bought and really used them thought

highly of them.  And because of the lower prices you could pick them up with stag and bone handles

and didn't have to pay a premium.

I have a sog seal pup from seki i got at a flea market a few months ago

the late 60's to early 70's seems to be the start of the US importers having products manufactured in Seki, Japan for sale into the US. Some very well knives being manufactured. That period holds a great deal of interest to me. Parker, Valor, Jet Aer, Khyber, C.I., and many other labels being produced by quality Seki Cutlery Companies. Innovative designs.

Later times the 80's-90's but I have several SOG knives from Seki and love their toughness. Great grind lines, good stainless steel blades.

wasn't Khyber imported by Ka-Bar so they would have a lower price line.

I have one somewhere and it has linen micarta panels, one of the first production

made knives that i saw with micarta.

I remember Valor,  they seemed to have some unique designs in their lineup

and always a cool name for the pattern.

I don't know where in Japan they were made but in the early 60's you could buy

Sabre brand knives made in Japan for a $1 at the dollar store.  I own a few today

and they are not bad knives, most have bone handles and I believe carbon steel.

The Ka-Bar and Khyber looked identical.
