Yes ... I know I said my seahorse drawer was full .... but I managed to make room for one more!!!  I couldn't resist.  I have wanted one of these since Craig started this thread in 2016 ... and it was one of the first ones he posted.  Unfortunately, the price has gradually climbed over the years.  Thank goodness for Black Friday!  I found one at a good discount AND with the color variations I wanted.  My latest .... a 2014 moss brown, worm groove jigged bone.

Purdy.

Very nice horse Dennis! I did some Black Friday Case shopping as well, though I didn't order a Seahorse this time. I like "user" knives so I ordered a Case Rough Black Medium Stockman and a Sodbuster Jr in Jigged Amber Bone, both to be in my EDC rotation. I feel the Seahorse Whittler is just too nice to use on a regular basis, something of an industrial art piece. When used it doesn't fit well in my hand either; just too short with that big 'ol honkin Wharncliffe blade sticking out there threatening to bite you just for handling it, frankly it scares me a little. Looks wonderful I must admit, but I would rather carry around something indestructible like the Rough Black Stockman, (using "Gum Fuddy" as handle material). A Horse is a knife to show off due to its striking appearance, a conversation starter, but not something that most would use that often. I did look at Seahorses at SMKW, but all they had that day were three handle versions, and those were boring. Where did you get this one? Shepard Hills?

Syd, got it at Deadwood Knives.  Their Ebay store prices were too high (to buy sight unseen).... but they had a Black Friday sale on their web site and I had an additional coupon from them (can't remember where or when I got it).  So, took a chance and got one with just the right color combo I was hoping for.

Newest seahorse just in (well, have had it for a few days ... just got around to photographing it!).  It's a 2016 model which was customized by Josh Kidd (Wild Horse Knives) with some nice black crosscut mammoth ivory covers.

This is number 47 to be herded into the stable.  I keep squeezing them into an already crowded drawer.  And, I will somehow need to make room for number 48, with the addition of another customized pony ... this one customized by Santa Fe Stoneworks.  Stay tuned!

All I got for that is "whoa", what a gorgeous knife! Have you named me in your will yet, (lol)?

Thanks Syd ... I updated my codicil just for you!

Normally (for some strange, inexplicable reason), I am not a fan of Damascus blades on these seahorses.  But on this one, it works ... and, I couldn't pass up the beautiful mammoth on it.  Here's a shot of the pile side:

That's over the top nice Dennis. Beautiful mammoth.

Thanks Tim.  I'd put you down in my will .... but Syd already claimed it!!  The next one is (IMO) equally nice ... but think I am going to have a hard time photographing it.  We'll see.

Yeah man I asked first, so I gets the prize!! Only problem is I will probably vapor lock first, (I'm so old I actually know what vapor lock is).

Did I ever mention how much I respect you - just like a son :-)

I may vapor lock before you though

Every time I use that term around my daughter she looks puzzled at me and says "what the hell is vapor lock?'. I've explained it to her a few times  but she just gets a glazed look in her eyes, I can literally see the info I lovingly shared with her flowing out her other ear. Oh well, such is fatherhood. I respect you too blade brother.
