The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel

Only the first portion about the laws were a reply to you (about the folder larger than 3 inches in CA comment), the rest was just addressing everyone in regards to the knife discussion...i sent that long reply from my phone at jury duty so due to a small touch screen phone i could not name all the knives suggested to me and whom it was suggested by.
But you are right...BACK TO KNIVES!!!
The CaseXX knife you recommended was a good looking blade.
I agree about buying American made products...are there any other knives that would fit this topic that are produced in the USA?
Wayne-
The Silver Alox scaled Solo is a very nice looking knife. I'm going to have to go down to REI and see if they have one i can hold...do you own one? do you like it?

It's getting harder & harder to find American made knives but take heart, there seem to be a few new comers. Be sure to check out "Canal Street Knives"- they make some real beauties & I think one with a single blade but it might be too big.
I believe I saw it in a A.G. Russell catalog (www.agrussell.com) and come to think of it, check out the Buck Duke Buffalo Horn & Malachite for $159.95 (Item no. BU500BUF)-has a 3" drop point lockback blade. I would have bought it myself & I still might?) Also check out "The Cutting Edge" for some upscale folders. They are an affiliate of Russell.
Also, "Great Eastern Cutlery" is coming out with some nice carbon steel blades including a Mini Lockback with a jigged bone handle for 2011. I found their website but couldn't find any prices on that one. As I've been told, this Co. was started by some of the original workers from the old Schrade-Walden Knives when they used to mfg. the Uncle Henry Golden Spike (5" simulated stag handle skinner) here in the USA.
That same skinner is still available but it's made in China now. I still have my original made in the US.
Usually, you can tell quickly if it's made here at home by the price tag but there ARE some really fine examples of cutlery made in Japan & Taiwan such as SOG & they ain't cheap either, brother.
I'm going to go broke if I don't stop buying knives, but hot damn, I'll have the best knife collection in the "poor house".
