Came upon this unique little piece and am trying to see if anyone knows anything about it or the maker.

Wow that's a great looking knife, can you tell us anything about it? Any tang markings, where you got the knife etc. Sometimes a little history or background is helpful.

It came in a lot from a old estate sale there were Heuer  and Rolex watches in the same lot which is what got me curious about this little piece.  The only thing on it is a H engraved in the little oval as for any other markings the only thing I can think of is if the makers mark was part of the engravings that are all over it.

It's a "fruit knife" .. the spike thingie is for removing pits .. also used for removal of the meat of nuts.

Thank you very much my neighbor came over the other day wanting to sell it with a few old buck knives. We used it to clean under nails but was pretty sure that was not it's  purpose.

Very good David, looks like our friend Dale was able to quickly identify that piece. Thanks Dale, I wonder who made that fruit knife? That could be bit harder and if this is on the way out the door...you may not care!

Thanks Dale, I sure would have driven myself crazy trying to research that one.  It is a great little knife

That's a nice looking knife. I think it is American rather than European based on the shape of the handle, pick attachment and the lack of any hallmarks. Coles and Gorham were two big American fruit knife makers in the 1800s. I think their mark would appear on the knife somewhere though. So, ultimately, this is probably not much help but hopefully interesting nonetheless.

I found a knife with R H number 36 made withstack leather handel alumium end 6inch blade 10 inch over all can anyone tell me about it
