Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hello Folks, I'm being pressed right now for my vacation plans this year. Can anyone tell me when the GEC Rendevous will be this year? It will be my first and I do not want to miss it.

Alan, I just wrote to Christine, she will know whats up.

If I had to guess it will be towards the end of July, I think thats when it normally is. I will let you know for certain as soon as I hear back.

Hopefully it's on and if so, I hope to see you there!!!

Okay, the days for the Rendezvous will be held on July 19, 20, 21.

It is definitely worth the trip, seeing the people and the machines that turn out the best traditional knives in the world is hard to pass up. Stopping in to see the selection of knives for sale is also incredibly hard to pass up.

Hope to see you there.

Alan,

Please join us.  There is so much to do in the area.  There are dog friendly hotels and parks near by, a caboose train you can stay in (great rooms, just huge).  Tidioute is a must see while you are in the area.  I understand Ryan will be in attendance this year.  Donnie and I are planning to be there and I know Johnny will come too

Wow! My birthday falls right in the middle of those 3 days on the 20th. It would be a great excuse for me to take a trip and score a really terrific birthday present(s). I'll have keep my ear to the ground on this one -- see which way the wind is blowing a little later in the year.

Thanks for the info, Johnny! You, too, Ms. Jan!

So Nice!

Thanks Johnny, Jan  My leave will go in today.  My two little dogs will be traveling with me,but I'm not sure if they will be with me when I visit the Rendevous. I have family in North Western NJ, so I can leave them there a day or so if need be.

Jan, could you let me know of the Caboose train (Rooms) Sounds interesting, are these dog friendly? I'm so busy right now I want to make reservations before its too late.

Thanks All!  Alan

Ron, it would be cool to see you there. I know it's a ways off, but if you go you'll know why we get excited to go again. Meeting up with the different members of this site and the makers of GEC, it's an awesome experience. I hope you'll be able to join us.

Alan, it's definitely worth the trip, as I've said before, it's a great time. There is lots to see just in the factory, but you'll be surrounded with some beautiful PA. I hope to see  you there.

Awesome Folks,

See you all there, I'll be there for sure Thursday,Friday morning. Staying in the Caboose Motel!

Thnaks!!! Alan

Ron,

It is a beautiful trip from FL.  I see your in CA.  That is a good ways but there is so much to do in that area.  I hate to mention another company, but you know that is the same weekend that Case will be doing their open house also.  Between Titusville and Bradford there are MANY flea markets and antique stores.  There is an indoor antique market just over the NY line that they say has about 200 stores.  Because of the history in the area, many great bargins and older knives can be found in the area.

So many things to do in that area, my favorite thing is actually the front porch at Great Eastern.  Meeting the folks we speak with on here and the many more that attend.

I would love to go. That's fersure! Like I said, I'll have to stick my finger in the wind in another month or so. I've got a couple other irons in the fire right now. I'll have a little better idea toward the end of April, maybe early May?

Jan and Johnny, I would love to meet you guys! Maybe if I can quit buying knives long enough to put some coin aside I might be able to get back there and, you guessed it...but some more knives! Just today I got my first Case knife (sorry to mention that in this forum), a cute little Seahorse. Yesterday it was another SAK, and there are still two more of those in the mail headed in my direction due to arrive in the next day or two. I think I need an intervention?

Anyway, thank you both for the nice messages. I've marked my calendar and we'll see what happens just a little ways down the road?

Ron,

No help with an intervention here LOL.  If someone here tells you to step away from the knife, it means we want to pick it up and have a good look ourselves.  Hope to see you there
