Anyone own one of their cases? Thoughts? Opinions? Alternatives?
Many thanks.
I don't Rick, we'll see if anybody has a recommendation but they do look nice. Of course it depends on what you want to do and if its just display in home or be portable or whatever. Any plans?
I'm getting ready to move from NYC to a small town in Washington state in the Columbia River Gorge. Seeing as the COL is about a zillion times cheaper there, despite not having a job there yet, I will be able to afford a much larger apartment than my current shoebox (charming it is, but small, too). This means I'll be able, as George Carlin was so fond of saying, to put my stuff in it. That includes displaying my knives, my artwork gathered over time spent in Asia, etc.
Well don't blame you a bit, Washington State is a very nice place, scenic and all. you probably won't have time to be indoors as much either which is kind of nice. In addition to checking on cases for your knives I would recommend checking on local laws for knives. Might be better or worse than where you are moving from. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing!
The thing about those display cases are if you want to handle the knives you need to open the case. Which if the case is on the wall means pulling it down and clearing the coffee table of all your knife and gun magazines to open it.
I suggest a "spice rack" styled display case. It is easy to make yourself and you can customize it to your needed dimensions. This way you can fondle your knives anytime, without inconvenience.
