Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

My brother walked in today carrying a box of knives he purchased for resale.

They are Frost cutlery knives...stainless steel tactical looking...of course made in china.

They look to be like fun little knives.

The larger ones have some strength and no side to side play...but some do have a dangerous blade lock, you have to shove to the side while trying to fold it closed.

All in all he got them for a buck a knife....so they will pay for themselves and they will make someone

a fun knife for a few years. Just not made to last forever......

Here is a few pics.

The Cats eye was the one that caught my attention because the eye is the blade lock...makes it feel somewhat like a switchblade without the open action...has a belt clip too!

He must have bought one of the big sets from Cutlery Corner. I have bought a couple of them and ended up giving away most of them. I kept 1 of each kind . I did this when I thought I could try to collect 1 of every knife available. It didn't take long to figure out that was never going to happen. It looks like most of them I have never seen. watch out for some of the liner locks. I had trouble with some of them not locking good.

Yeah all of these look like the 100 knives for $100 or a buck a knife.  Problem is when you throw in the shipping charges from CCN it comes out to closer to $2 a knife.  A guy at the local fea market sales these and some even cheaper no-name Frost knock-offs (can you believe that!) for $3-$5 a pop.  He has a kiosk open three days a week so has the value to make a profit selling the junk.  He also sells mid range and high quality knives but if he didn't sell these things he would have to close up shop.  On Saturday mornings it seems like the gang-bangers are lining up to but a new "drop knife" for the coming week. Most of the "snap shots" and eagle eyes will loosen up and get significant blade wobble after they been opened and closed about 100 times.

The Swamp Lizard is a relatively new one by Frost.  They give a list price of $16 but usually sell it for around $5 on the show.   Reminds me of the Spyperco Schemmp or Cold Steel Espada.  Wtih that said, Frost has some of the coolest knife names on the market.

He bought them from a local guy , on a facebook yardsale,

The goal was just to buy cheap and make a few bucks....so far that is working out well.

That's good to hear, Sue.

Agreed, great news.  I'm sure they can be sold because, like I said, I know a dude at flea market that makes a living doing it.

Does he have an asking price? how many knives are there?

He'll most likely make some money from people who are looking for a cheap knife or someone who just doesn't know what to stay away from. I see these selling at the gun shows for $5 and up and people are buying several at a clip. This is where my grandson is being educated on buying knives. Teach 'em young and they'll get smarter as they grow. Some are very nice to look at and make a good showpiece but I'd never trust them for use. I have a couple of giant folders like a Schrade Trapper with cracked ice handles that draw attention when I set up a display but that's about all it's used for, an attention getter. Still, it goes back to a very basic rule of buy and collect what you like!!
