I signed up my grandson for SMKW's SharpKidz program when it first came out. I have attached a letter I just sent to them about the program. Has anyone else signed up someone for the program? I'd like to know your thoughts.…

SMKW comes through

Posted on October 14, 2013 at 17:30 6 Comments

I ordered a bunch of knives on the next to the last Friday night Knives Live show along with 2 ladder knife stands for my grandson. One large & one small. The following Friday I hadn't received my order which is odd. I called and they said the order hadn't shipped. They said the large stand was no longer available which delayed the shipment since they just found out. They said they'd ship it Monday (today). I came home from work today to find a large box had been delivered. I opened it…

I've learned a lot about going to sales to find knives from reading about methods in "Blades Guide to Knives and their Values"

My latest adventure was a very good opportunity as this was a community yard sale/ flea market. The town has a main drag approximately 2…

Posted on May 31, 2013 at 15:05 20 Comments

I found a Imperial fixed blade tucked away in an old tackle box that I haven't used in several years. I found the knife while fishing and just stuck it in the box. This was before I contracted the knife collecting fever, of which there is no cure only treatment. The sheath is dirty and needs a good cleaning. What do you suggest for cleaning the sheath and what do you use for periodic treatment of leather. All my fixed blades are less than 2 years old and I'm thinking they should probably…
