The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I signed up my grandson for SMKW's SharpKidz program when it first came out. I have attached a letter I just sent to them about the program. Has anyone else signed up someone for the program? I'd like to know your thoughts.…

I ordered a bunch of knives on the next to the last Friday night Knives Live show along with 2 ladder knife stands for my grandson. One large & one small. The following Friday I hadn't received my order which is odd. I called and they said the order hadn't shipped. They said the large stand was no longer available which delayed the shipment since they just found out. They said they'd ship it Monday (today). Summer is here and with it flea markets and yard sales. I go to these as often as I can along with esate sales. I have found some interesting and unique finds so I've decided to blog the sales and let everyone in on them. I love the Trapper pattern knife and I have more of them in my collection than any other pattern. The reason is not the sleek lines or any other visible attribute. It's because I have used it more than any other pattern being a former fur trapper.
I spent 10 years trapping 'coons, fox, 'rats, 'possum, skunk, and anything else of value for its pelt. Many Christmases were merrier becasue of it. I would cut small branches for guide sticks, sharpen points on ground stakes, and cut bait…

We must take our youth of today and forge them into tomorrow's generation of knife collectors and makers. Gentle guidance to encourage and develop their growth in the love of knives. Teaching the history of cuttlery as well as its place in today's world and in the future. Reference books and catalogs for them to use instead of video games. TV shows promoting cuttlery. Hands on training in the art of blade crafting.
I started my grandson out by giving him a freebie knife when I…
