Here is a place to post those Steel Warriors and Frost branded knives. I know that a lot of you out there have them. I have heard mention of them from time to time.. I started really getting into collecting on a lot of these because you could get whole sets for very little money. S0 here is a place that you can show them.

That's a nice older one. You don't see very many of the Frost Japanese made knives very often, or I don't anyway.

It's been a while since I posted here, but here goes,

This is an Ocoee river basket weave pearl Sunfish This one was an Ocoee River Honeycomb bone sunfishRiver Blue bone Sunfish Here is a Red bone Sunfish

Need help with Frost knives. Recently got two folders but with different logos, one has a tang stamp with frost name and eagle, the other has the frost name in an oval. Is this because one is from china and the other from Pakistan or are they from different years? What's the deal?

Bobby, Would need to see the tang stamps.  Frost swaps out tang stamps and logos so often it is mind boggling.

Bill nice looking Ocoee River knives,  I've thought a couple times about picking up Ocoee's but was doudtful of the quality.  Are the better than Steel Warriors or about the same?  Do you have anything by them other than Sunfish?

Sorry the picture didn't turn out well. The one of the left is the Pakistani oval and the other is the Chinese eagle.

Toby, they are as good as Steel Warrior. I do have a few other ones that I will post later. Most of Frost Pakistani knives tout themselves as being German stainless. The Chinese built knives are usually better quality than those made in Pakistan. That is of course, just my observation and opinion.

Billy, I also find that Chinese made knives to be of better quality.  I've only had  two Pakistani made knives that i thought wee up to snuff.   One is the BW Celtic skinner, the other a Fox-n-Hound Ulu skinner.  Oddly many of the leather sheaths from Pakistan seem to better quality than the knife.  The exception is the one with the BW Skinner.

The knives here are making me want to visit the Frost Showroom while up there

Fox N Hound is a SMKW brand.   Frost has virutally the same Ulu skinner in Steel Stag series. (SS7014)  I went with the Fox N Hound out of loyalty to SMKW products over the Frost stuff and for the F-NH tans stamp and embossed sheath.   I paid a list price of $12.99 for the F-n-H.  At the time the list price for Steel Stag was $10.99.  It is now going for around $15.  An unbranded version called the Cat skinner is also selling in the $15 range.  The knife measures 6 1/4 inches with a 3 1/4 inch cutting edge on the blade.    Overal fit/finish of the Fox N hound is surprisingly good.  Sheath was well stitched and thick and the rough interior surface does a good job of keeping the blade clean and snug in the sheath.

Pretty sure all of them have 420 Stainless steel which is very common among the Pakistan made fixed blades. I'd hate to do extensive skinning with the knife but it does a great job hacking up frozen food and cutting boxes.   Like I said, overall I'm pleased with it.  Be nice to know if the Steel Stag equivalent has a similar quality.  If not, then its all in the quality control and that why I fear Frost brands so much.

My first steel warrior- american flag wrangler stockman. Found it and little imperial for $11 at flea market.

Some of their knives are very stunning to look at. The only drawback for me is that darned Rockwell test mark and stamp they put on them. I bought a beautiful looking Trapper on eBay when I first got into this and was very disappointed they didn't show that side of the blade that had this mark and stamp but found it upon delivery. When I asked the seller they simply replied, "What do you expect from eBay?". This seller is on my radar now. They would make a nice collection but to me that punch mark isn't needed or wanted by most. I do enjoy watching their show from time to time just to see what they're offering for a dollar a knife. I try to watch the truntable to catch the reverse side of the knife and see if everything is marred that way. I know the Case knives aren't like that they sell.

This was does not have the Rockwell marking on it. Simply steel warrior and 440 stainless on each blade. Unusual to have marking on every blade.
