Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I received this knife as a gift a few years back, and never gsve it s whole lot of thought until I lookrd closer at the tang stamp recently. The tang stamp as well as I can determine dates it as circa 1924-1933.The problem is, it looks like it came out of the box yesterday?? Is this a fake, or did I just get a lucky break?? BTW, I am not known for having a lot of lucky breaks-Any insight or info greatly appreciated.

I have managed to answer a few of my own questions but am still confused ( normal for me). Remington introduced a series of reproduction " Arent You Glad You Have A Remington" knives. This knife scene is entitiled " Right of Way".But here is where it gets a little strange. Apparently, every image I can find is in a barlow pattern. I found one image of this knife from a questionable source saying it was rare and that it had been made by now defunct Camillus.Still trying to figure out why it has the old Remington tang stamp  and when or how many were made in this pattern or if Camillus did indeed make it.

Hey John,

The good news is that its not a fake, it is a real Remington novelty knife, these were done back in the 90's under license from Remington Arms Co. by Smoky Mountain Knife Works, the knives were actually built by Camillus Cutlery, they retailed for around $5.00, there is a new line being done now that are from China, so some day the original USA's may command more....As for how many were made, there was around 15 different handle scenes done and I'd guess that around 10000 of each were made in the years that Camillus was building them...Hope I've un-confused you some...
