You can join for only $20 a year, or $100 lifetime.
So you don't need to be wealthy, but what is offered in the way of Club Exclusives may be expensive, I don't know.
I wish the site provided more information about what you get (or could get) and what it costs.
So if you are a Member please give us insights. Maybe more people would join up!

First off, I'm not a member, but I was. I didn't renew this year. I wanted to, but had to make a lot of cutbacks and $20 here and $20 there made a difference. I will rejoin when able. OK, enough whining, on with the club....

What I found most useful was the model history data base on the website. It's not complete yet but there is tons of information on a lot of past models. Members are constantly researching and adding histories and photos of their favorite models. Several of the 300 series knives were recently added, the 184 Buckmaster, the 110 Hunter is in the works, may be done by now. It's a great resource.

Also on the website are scans of past catalogs and other company documents. If I remember correctly some of the catalogs go back to the '40's. It's fun to browse through the old catalogs and see in what year a model was first introduced.

There is a classified section on the site, and a Q/A section but not a real forum. The annual Club Knife offerings are very nice and sales are limited to members. I have seen club knives pop up on the "auction site" occasionally though. I can't give you the cost these knives are offered at because I cant get on the site. If I remember though they were reasonable and very nicely done.

Over at BladeForums.com in the Buck Knives sub forum there is a sticky with quite a bit of info on the Club, just be prepared to glean through 10 pages and 187 posts.

I think the club is well worth the $20 a year, and a deal at $100 for a lifetime membership, if you've got the "Bucks".

I am Lifetime Member #1698. MJ about summed it up. I think it is a valuable collector tool. Loads of info on the site.

MJ has it summed up real well on the official stuff
the site still needs a LOT of information but is building slowly

most of all some how it seems that the buck collectors that are active
are some of the nicest folks you could meet!
the club has some knife shows that they maintain a offical show statis
these show the club pays for your table to display your knives if you want to show!
they paid the 40 fo the gater show this past week
there are no official shows in the west
but there are no bcci officials that live there to go either!
two shows on the west cost may become official bcci club shows

many of the club members dont know how to get their thoughts on the table
on what they would like to see the club do
this is some thing that the member can do if they persist
i wanted the gater show to be offical and pushed for it with emails
and Jack Forsman took it up and now it has been offical bcci show two years now
the club seems to be changeing some and more members are looking to display
then knives they have
which will make it a better club all around with more of that happening!
all in all it is a good thing
displaying takes time and resorces but has its rewards

How about we bump this old thread? I am a BCCI "E" member, #2986. I collect all Buck knives, but specialize in the Camillus-made Buck 300 Series slip joint pocket knives. I like the newsletter put out monthly by BCCI, that alone is worth the $10 annual fee.
