Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum but not new to anything else. I thought I'd test your knife knowledge. I recently bought at auction(cheaply) a very well made Barry Wood style knife. The one that the handles revolve open. No photos, sorry. This one has no markings anywhere on the knife. It has two smooth stainless rivets and a smooth stainless pivot. Here's the catch, the handle scales are almost black ebony. All of the Colt models are Micarta, as are the Frost copies. So the question is who made it?

Wow, another original take on the original, this one radically different. Very interesting! My knife is identical to the original Barry Wood but these two knives have taken the concept and run with it.

This is the Power River Folder and I think I paid about $29.00 for this knife. There is nothing on the blade says who made this knife or where.

Gus,

Thats the Powder River I was looking at, close but not quite yours Terrence?

No Jan, sure wish I had a photo. Mine is identical to an 0riginal Wood knife except for the ebony scales. Also I notice my rivets are attached by allen screws, not peened. Gus's knives look nothing like mine, they are not trying to copy Wood just use the folding concept.

Oh OK, well we will keep looking.  We can do just what Gus did..we can post a pick and you can tell us what is differnt.  Having no picture just makes it like a treasure hunt Terrence :)
Well Gentlemen, the search is over. My knife is being offered on Ebay by Knifecorner for $55.00, made in China. Not far away is a genuine Barry Wood knife offered for $275.00. Interesting, eh?

LOL Terrence,

Great hunt though...Thanks for the fun
