The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I'm new here and have a question. My dad asked me to check on one of his sets of knives. He found in his closet a pair of Boker wildlife series knives. The larger single blade folder has an elk on the blade and the smaller 2 blade folder has the eagle. They came together in a black display box, each with #703 engraved. Both knives have Solingen stainless blades. I have seen lots of Boker wildlife nives from the late 80s but this set he claims to have won as a prize in he thinks '84. When did this set come out and how many were in this series?

Roy, a couple of photos would surely help. (Besides we like pics.)
Roy does it look like anything here on this link: http://www.iknifecollector.com/forum/topics/any-info-for-the-boker-...
Steve it's taken me a few to work out problem with camera/computer issues. Here is a pic of the set in question.
Ok I see now the markings are a blade etch.

As I remember Boker issued many Wildlife series knives depicting both animals and birds I would say the series ran from the early 1980's to the mid 1990's at least. I am sure the release was at least 1,000 knives, probably more.
