Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I bought this recently (used), and it looks like what I thought I was buying (Emerson CQC-8), except that there's no swedge on the upper front of the blade.  Does anyone know why, or what model I've got here?  I think it must be a very old one, but I'd love to have more details.  Thanks.

Now maybe its just a camera angle thing, but when you look at these they sure do look a little different:

You have all the details on the blade this is a actual CQC-8 made in the year 205 the serial number is 0133 and it is made out of CPM154 steel

As far as I know the protype blades are not market ans do the commander made in the year 2000 all other production standard Emerson knives should have the date of production as far the the model number and serial number on the blade.

Thanks Patrick, good to know he has a legit one. I searched the internet and came up with the picture which happened to be a proto.  It was the only way I could get a comparison picture.

As far as I know the only Emerson clone that was made the last 5 years is the commander model.

Thanks for the input, guys!  So what I have here is a cqc-8 from 2005, which didn't yet have that swedge, right?  What year did they institute the top forward swedge, do you know?
