Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Last week it was some yahoo who weas questioning my video on the on the Traditional Peanut pattern knife.  And now this week I've got someone in California who doubts my claims about the Old Hickory Field Knife

"Hysterical! I'd drive out from California to watch you chop a gallon of milk with that knife!
Thanks for the thorough review."

I saved him his gas money.

The 10 inch 1095 carbon steel blade can easily be made razor sharp.  Made in the USA, the 410-10 field knife is light weight and compact. If you need a small machete, you can't go wrong.  It will easily cut through half inch thick pine.  The milk jug... well you get the idea.

LOL, I for one am glad you saved him the trip!  That knife obviously got sharp!

Wow, Now bring out that watermelon from the 'fridge!

I purchased a couple of their 8" butcher knives @ the local Salvation Army .. 50 cents a piece.

One is still "as purchased". The other has been modified for garden & general outside use.

I refer to it as my mini machete. It sees some pretty hard use. Chopping small tree roots out of the garden .. the occasional rock.

It sharpens up .. easily. And .. holds a good edge. I put it to some HARD use !!!

The "notch" works well for weeding / trimming.

Once hooked around whatever one is attempting to trim .. a quick pull is all that's required.

.

Tobias .. I think publishing on the net is not for the faint of heart.

Trolls exist .. for the sole purpose of .. starting sht.

In some strange way .. they gain enjoyment from it.

I wouldn't stop what you are doing ..but.. there's always going to be a critic .. w/ zero knowledge of what they speak.

D ale. That modified butcher knife looks extremely functional and wicked.
If I were to do this video again, I'd start by showing a close up of the knife and then show you the damage done by the two swipes. The first cut while it was full cleaved the bottom clean off. It only stayed attached because of the handle. The second back-hand swipe put a six inch vertical gash in the bottom of the carton despite the jug having no weight to keep it in position.

I don't know -- us knife geeks can appreciate a good knife test.  But I'll admit that playing with knives is not necessarily always a dignified pass time. But I'm fine with that.

Dont get discouraged by morons, a good knife is a good knife, if someone doesnt want to believe it thats his problem. But finishing off the milk jug was worth it.

Hey Tobias - don't sweat the dopes, and there are plenty of them.

Nice response  video .

best

Dale,

hmmmm, I am going to be checking out the local thrift stores for one that can be modified to work like that one!
