The Kukri (Khukuri) Group

The khukuri, often shortened to "kukri" here in the U.S., is both a utility knife & a weapon.  The khukuri likely was derived from the Greek sword known as the kopis.  Usually shorter than a typical sword, but longer than a typical knife, the khukuri is often easily recognized by the canted blade.  Classically, the khukuri is thick, as much as 10 mm or more, with a leaf shape that flares out where the blade bends, the tip aligned below the user's hand.  This knife originated more for…See More

Camillus CK9: The knife used by Dual Survival's Grady Powell

Posted on May 5, 2016 at 22:12 3 Comments

Recently I had the chance to watch another episode of the current season of Dual Survival, & again got to see Grady Powell using the Camillus CK9.  Somewhere I saw someone online stating that Grady Powell designed the knife, but I have not yet been able to confirm or deny this.  Camillus has very little detail on the CK9 on its website, & of course TOPS doesn't have anything public about this on its website because it's not technically a TOPS knife.

This video from Gough Custom Knives just floored me -- his shop is so clean, & his work so measured...  This was 12 minutes of video worth watching, especially for those of us who have aspirations to make beautiful knives ourselves.

can you open that knife?? I bet you can open it no problemo! you can still get the knife I'm sure, but zt has officially discontinued it. like I said haveing a bladestop as the only means of deploying the knife, is just wierd.  it's almost like the knife was made for experts and not just your regular knife fan.
