Can anyone tell me when the name Simmons was no longer used on knives? From what I've read it would appear to be 1940, but I'd like to be sure.

Thanks

It seems to me there is a difference in the references available.  Some say 1940 others say it was 1960.  Check out this discussion E.C.SIMMONS

It's clear that Shipleigh used the Keen Kutter name and mark until 1960, but most of the references I have found, except one in the discussion you sent mt, indicates that Simmons was discontinued. I recently came into posession of five Simmns knives and am trying to get more information about them.

Thanks for your citation.
