Hello,

I need some info on a knife that I found years ago with a medal detector. It is 6 inches open, with Ethan and below it Italy on the tang. I believe the outside of the knife is made of silver, and the mechanism does not work.

Any info will be greatly appreciated

Chris,

Best authority I know on Switchblade and automatics is Kaleb

  Hey  Chris,

Nice find!  I'm no Ethan expert but no, I don't think it's silver, it was  originally covered with a plastic type material, and called a shell wrapped (Ethan).  Very sought after stamp, but that blade has lost it's lines, the wrap is long gone,  and I don't think those are the easiest pieces to work on;  but it  may  very well be worth looking into it.

Good luck,
