Well that is a Parker knife right there Bobby. and that is his company mark that flying Eagle. He was a big importer of knives from japan in the late 70's and early 80's.

That is an example of a similar knife on eBay!

Thanks Steve.

Bobby...

I remember these when I was a kid.  They were always fancy to me.

It jumped out at me from the dealers case at flea market. Could not pass up for $3.

Well I would say you got one good deal!

hey i know its easy to look at this.. see the eagle and think PARKER... but this one is NOT. one look and i knew that was not PARKERS eagle ... so took 2 minutes to look around.. i think what you have is related more to this company if anything.

the random stamping of numbers at the bottom and just the setup was screaming FRANKLIN MINT made if anything to me.

anyway here is a link to a knife with everything you need to learn... -hope i helped-  http://www.ebay.com/itm/American-Eagle-Knife-from-American-Internat...

I think you may be right. The bolsters are pretty but nothing if the quality if my other Parker. The scales are a dead ringer for my knife. Still a pretty knife but more likely not part if my edc rotation.

Bobby, I was going to agree with Steve, because Parker was the first thing that came to mind.  Then after Peter's post I just had to prove him wrong.  Well guess what, Peter is right.  Your knife doesn't look much like mine.  The handle detail is quite different and the eagles just vaguely resemble one another.  Sorry, don't know who made it, but I so know it wasn't the mint.

Good catch Peter, I am just catching up but I agree there is a difference in the Eagle for one.

LOL!  GOOD ONE JAMES... us KnifeKnerds are vicious. i agree cole and wouldnt say this piece was directly from the MINT but it looks alot like the stuff they are pumping out.. if we dug deeper we might just find out that they are related in some way... the main thing besides the big ole handle that screamed MINT to me was the numbers on the tnag.. i have seen this o F.MINT knives.. but i dojnt own a one,and have only handled a few and dont collect or study them so i honestly would not know for sure...bobby do you know for a fact its not the miont and if so how?...that would be cool!..thanx.. also please at anytime prove me worng...its a chance for me to learn something that i thought i already knew!..thank you.-pete
