Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This year iKnifeCollector is able to offer you a J.Mutz Custom.

Thanks to everyone that helped this decision happen.

Confirmed price is $112.00 plus shipping.

Payment is due no later than August 1, 2013

The body and bolsters are milled 416 the blade is 154CPM, with a 1/2 stop.  It is 3 5/8 closed and it is a Stag Cut Red Bone. Because this would be custom we could not order any more than 50 knives and his commitment is that he could deliver in September (maybe sooner but that a lot to get made in a short time).  There will be an iKC certificate with each knife signed by me.

45 of the 50 have been committed so there are only a few available.  Right now we will offer one per member.  For those of you wishing a second I have you on the list if there are still some available

I just had to share with you the warranty info on Jeff's page

It has a complete lifetime warranty on materials and craftsmanship. Any malfunction due to materials or craftsmanship under normal using conditions will be repaired for free. You can ship your product to the address found on this website but please contact us first so we know to watch for your returned item.

The "Catch" - Yes, sorry folks but we have a loophole to our warranty. The "lifetime" in "lifetime warranty" means Jeff's lifetime. Sorry but unfortunately when Jeff takes up residence at Boot Hill there will be no one to repair your product for free. Jeff's son Dylon is going to college and has no interest in continuing Jeff's business. But Jeff hopes to be able to warranty your products for many years to come!

I'm with Robert, if more want in that have been following this thread than I think they should be asked but not sure bout opening it up to general populace thats a whole different game. But the ones that have been asking if they could get in I think it should be offered it might help with the numbers for the new one if it could be done!

hello Robert how custome are these Metz knives???? is he doing the tempering of the blades or his he just doing kit knives with his blade stamp on them just asking??? I ordered a real custom from Bose and it took almost 5 years to get and it was a whole lot more then the Ikc club knife. right now its the Grail of my collection.

Yes Max, that's what I mean. We need to shorten the whole process, because we are behind in the year.

My thought is to try and get a quality replacement by end of year so it will be a short run

Tom,

Mr Mutz does water jet and heat treat.

I think Queen, or any of the brands they produce, would be an excellent choice for a replacement 2013 iKC knife.

Some of these custom maker let ther EGO's get them in trouble. He's not the first one to promise more than he can deleiver.

Queen sounds good to me.

It was too good to be true.  The price was excellent for a custom.  If they should show up sometime later, I would still be interested in having one.  In the meantime, Queen, GEC & Canal St are all quality manufacturers.  GEC puts up photos as their projects come along, Queen doesn't. After this experience, the photos would be reassuring.

Yes I vote Queen , after all they are iKC members ....

I am all for moving on. My excitement about the current knife has been extinguished. I really have a problem with doing business with folks that are incapable of being honest with their customers.

This is quite disappointing.

I wasn't expecting him to pull through anymore but I was hoping.

I don't know if I'd be up for "another 2013 knife"

I'll need a few days to think about it but personally I might just consider 2013 a writeoff when it comes to the iKC knife.

tom..i've seen one. they even have milled bolsters.

The emails have been sent to each of you that have paid for a 2013 knife.  A copy of that letter was also sent to Jeff Mutz.  I have made the decision to allow him to remain a member for a short period of time.  He has a right to respond to all of us
