Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I think we need to get a jump on this, so those people who have to plan ahead to purchase one can do so.

Let us discuss and then lockdown a pattern/design, get it priced out and ordered. Buying a knife around the winter holidays is difficult for everyone.

My vote is for a jack/mtnman/barlow-esque pattern Large (or Medium)

Stag/Bone/Burl wood

One/two blades

I would prefer Carbon blades, but an exotic SS is fine.

I'm in. It looks nice, plus being custom makes it even better.

I'm in for one as well.  Two if you don't reach 50 confirmed.

Yes Jan I would be in on that deal , really nice knife & great price too, oh yea !!!

I'm in for one. Looks great. If the decision is final. Or more discussion on it can continue. Whatever.

@ Ivars, I understand what you wrote... It does have a toned down canoe shape (which I always actually liked and found fit my hand very well).  THough i have to say,... It is a hand made knife, the handle is bone (not delrin like the other photo posted here) and the steel is 154CM which is a designer steel I have on my most costly knives.  The design is from a wonderful knifemaker.  I can tell you are disappointed, and I do understand why, but I think this is a great knife and is worth a second consideration.

YES jan YES!!! When I saw that knife's picture the first time I wanted it. Now that I know it's within reach I say ! Hurry!!! Before he changes his mind!!

I normally don't buy knives with club logos on them but this  looks pretty good

Only 50 would be my concern. Otherwise its beautiful. Surely more than 50 members will want to participate ? How about new members. Im not trying to be negative but if your not on every day or im sure some are on a fixed income. However I dont know how many normally sell each year. So I will end by saying>  I Like It.

GUYS CAN I GET YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE?

WHAT IF I COULD OFFER YOU A CUSTOM KNIFE?

We have a member that is a knifemaker Mr. J Mutz.  He and I are talking about what we could do for the knife this year.

He is thinking we could do this knife in 154CPM, with a 1/2 stop.  It is 3 5/8 closed and the it is a Red Bone. It would be this knife with an iKC blade etch.  There would not be a shield this year.  Because this would be custom we could not order any more than 50 knives and his commitment is that he could deliver in September (maybe sooner but that a lot to get made in a short time)

Jeff mills his knives so the bolsters are integral to the body of the knife not pinned in place.  He believes I could put this knife in your hands for a rough estimate of $110.00.  So I need to hear what you think before I ask him to build a proto for us and I would like that done quickly.  PLEASE give me your thoughts

I'm in Jan!!!

Before us we have a beautiful example from an independent knife maker.

Pros: It is of the correct size, a traditional-based pattern and will be made with premium materials.

Cons: it limited to 50 pieces

Personally, I like it. I have been admiring his offerings since I have befriended him here. Although I have not handled any of his work, I would not hesitate to gamble his asking price for this knife. This would be a "Special" knife and although he has offered this pattern to the public since 2010, what is the amount that was sold? 50? 100? or 10?

I would put this knife at the top of my list of choices. 2nd would be a Harness Jack, 3rd Mountainman.

Now, 50 pcs is a low quantity to offer. We are not "Married" to this knife yet, although some of us are in LUST with it.

Lets keep the dialogue going.

Two dissenters, so far.

I would ask of the remaining participants of this post: What say ye'?

It is indeed a beauty, but would prefer a shield to an etch, maybe for 10-15 dollars more?  at $110 that is a bargain,, I would def consider but have to sleep on it.

this one look's better than last years so I'm in There is only one thing can we have them numbered
