Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I have a Damascus pattern piece made buy my uncle that i inherrited and am looking for estament on its value. It was made when he was a journyman maker, the only pattern piece he made that I know of and never went into collector circulation. I would realy like to get a value (rough) on it so I can get it insured.Any help in any direction would be helpful thank you.

Stephen, thanks for joining iKnife Collector. We would be interested in seeing this knife if a picture could be provided, Also some questions... about when was piece made? you mention a pattern..what pattern was the knife? or what did he pattern after?

Here is a link we found but I believe for a newer knife.

Thank you here are some pics of the knife was proby made in the late 80s early 90s it is #50 as far as production number goes that he made. this is a one off knife not mass produce each of his knife were one of a kind. This including the one he made that is in the painting of of jams bowie with his arms crossed and the knife handle with the eagle head showing. I do know he made at least 76 different knives before he died and donated his power hammers to the blade school in Texarcana.

i have more info when you left i called my aunt (his wife) and got better info on knife it is #20 not %0 hard to see before he tested for his journyman. it has never been seen out side of family and my freinds. he did do 2 other patern blades but they were swords. He started selling knifes in 1984 so i am guessing it is forom the mid late 80s. This is before the blade he did for his journyman and the right up about it in April 1990Blade World Magazine. The reason why the knife was never shown was because he was a perfectionist and the the blade has 2 small flaws in it but because of the handle and being the only peice of that waterial he had. He did not break it and throw it in the lake, something he was known to do. in turn my aunt gave it to me with some of his equipment. after he passed.

Stephen,

First let me say that the knife is certainly unique.  It is also the best jawbone knife I have ever seen.  Being a jawbone it would have to be either a collector of your uncles works or specifically a jawbone knife collector.
