Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

OK, so by now we all know the chat is down.  I have passed the frustration level and now think we should just have a little fun with it.

So tell what the first thing you would tell me in the chat, if it worked.

One entry per person

Everyone is eligible

Contest ends when we get the chat back...that's the fun part who knows?

I have a brand new Case Paste for our winner!

Happy 4th of July to all members!!

Jan had asked to see some pictures of one of my latest WW2 Mark 2 knife purchases.  I have never posted any photos on here before, so I hope I get it right!  This knife is supposed to be the "Holy Grail" of all of the WW2 Mark 2 knives made.  Some sources say that only 5000 total were made of the "USMC" Robeson Mark 2.  These have the very early and distinctive "Red Spacers" behind the guard and in front of the pommel.  These knives were also finished using a super nice bluing process, similar to a fine civilian firearm.  Robeson also made a very special leather scabbard for these particular USMC knives.   They used "black" stiches, instead of the usual white color, and also incorporated an "ornate" closure snap not found on other sheaths.

I am also sending pictures of an early rare USMC KA-BAR Mark 2 which I also have acquired recently for my collection.  These very early "blued" versions are extremely difficult to find; especially in excellent condition, as most of these were heavily used in frontline combat by our Marines.

Nice piece. Appreciate the photos.

I love the Mark 2.

Jim, they are great!! I am going to start a thread in the Queen section. I think it's the best place for this incredible knife!
Very very nice Jim!! I started a new thread for these in the Queen Section!!

Here are a couple of the S&M autos with a nice custom auto (bolster release) by Jim Krause that I got at the Blade Show. They are all very well appreciated. It took a few tries to get used to the release on the S&Ms. It's a reissue of an older auto design. The Krause knife shows his collaboration with Whiskers Allen, an old friend of both of us.

I would love to the the display case and any cabinet you acquire! I'm always looking for new and better ways to display my collection!!

BTW: I'm putting a table top locked, mirrored display up at a local antique store in July to sell some of the "other" knives I've accumulated over the years while on my Buck 300 Series quest, worked out a consignment deal with them. Small display, enough room for a dozen or so slip joints at a time, (also have a bunch of Zippos and other "smalls" to sell). Gives me an excuse to go out and find more knives, (how's that for justification?). I'm still working on the display cabinet, found a nifty one on Craigslist made outta solid oak. Still needs a lock, but already have a cabinet lock that will work, just need to find my hole saw. I'll be sure to post photos when I get it together.
