Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Just bought this nice used fixed blade hunting knife. It appears to be of good quality and has a stacked leather handle. The overall length is 9" with a 4.5" blade. There are no stampings or markings. The pommel is held on by a hex nut.

Can someone more knowledgeable help me with a brand name for this knife?

DO NOT get rid of that knife...lol. To me, it screams Randall or Blackjack. Odd there are no markings on the tang, unless someone did a terrible polishing job or an even worse sharpening job. I could be wrong, but you may have a gem there.

Thanks Steve

The knife is a keeper for me and I will enjoy it. It came in a too new and too long Boker Arbolito sheath.

Rick

I have magnified this as much as I can, to me it looks like there may be a makers mark that has been removed.  Try taking a piece of paper and a pencil, do a rubbing over it and see it anything shows. It does appear to have been a talented maker because of the chosen materials and the guard, although the nut tells me someone may have taken apart a knife and "cobbled" one together.  Let's see if we can get a rubbing to show up anything.

I certainly don't have anything more to add, but it's a nice looking knife.

Thank you to JJ, Jan, and Steve for their advice and comments. After looking at pics on the web, I am 95% sure this is a Blackjack Trail Guide knife. I'll still try the paper rub trick to see if markings appear.

Waiting on a reply from Mike Stewart (former and present owner of Blackjack Knives). I'll let you know...

Confirmed by the man himself, Blackjack Trailguide. That is a great knife!

WAY TO GO!!!  Thanks Manx for getting a definitive answer for us!
