The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I recently purchased a Rough Rider mini trapper and a Schrade 65th anniversary whittler. The problem is that both knives are nail splitters. Benchmade blue lube did not help. I put a piece of a business card in the knife slot for the Rough Rider. This helped to open it but a tiny bit of the knife blade sticks out because the knife does not completely recede into the knife slot.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Further, is this a problem for certain knife manufactures? Finally, are some knife patterns more of a problem (trappers etc) then others (peanut, toothpick, muskrat)?
