Hi All -

Going through old boxes in the basement and came across this.  I found this knife along the Minnesota River in the mid 70s with a metal detector when I was about 12.  I was searching some old settler sites - around stone building remnants.  I was wondering if it was possible to find out any information on something like this, and thought this very cool site might be a good place to start.

Doug,

I can tell you it appears hand forged and unfinished, like what is called an old blacksmiths knife.  They didnt worry to much with handles or anything.  The just needed something to cut with

Rare, no I dont think so but much more rare in good condition.  You can imagine they rust away fairly badly.  This is the typical condition and style
