Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

The story- My buddy and verbal sparring partner, John Kellogg were in chat back in October of 2014.He was looking to bid on this knife in an Ebay auction and wondered if anyone had heard of the Co. I told him that Favorite Knife Co. was  a trademark used by Stratton-Warren Hardware circa 1939, who were major hardware wholesalers based out of Memphis. He won the bid & promised to post pictures-- Months of friendly squabbling about the lack of the promised photos. Finally, last weekend John K. mailed me the now notorious knife-LOL. Next to nothing is known about Favorite, except that they were supposedly made in Germany. However, I do now question the circa 1939 date, as Stratton-Warren Hdwe.  was formed in 1913 and was still in business at least until 1967.I know this because a salesman for Stratton-Warren entered his first ever fishing tournament in May of 1967-- You may have heard of him-His name is Bill Dance !!  This was at the first All-American Invitational Bass Tournament and the birth of B.A.S.S.(Bass Anglers Sportsman Society).BTW, Bill is recorded as catching the first bass of the tournament on his very first cast and placed 2nd in the tournament and a fishing legend was born !! Now the photos---

LOL, yeah.

, what they said.

Okay, okay---- I yield to the pressure-LOL--In my defense, when I took these photos yesterday, it was pouring rain all day & night. Not the best light for picture taking--- Took some more today, although still overcast . If any of them come out decently, I'll post them shortly.

Here are a couple more pics-The obverse of the knife & the secondary blade tang stamp-I hope this appeases you all-LOL

John,

You did just fine!  The knife is sure a sight to behold John & John.  This is a tang you just dont come across often!  Thanks for sharing
