I am always confused as to sharpening knives. For example my Spyderco has a flat grind; do I sharpen one side or two.
Does the new super steels influence how you sharpen them ? I always try to use my fine stone to touch up my blades
DMT flat stone; and try not to let my knife get too dull before I touch it up. I take my time and use the feel test to see if it is
sharp to me; but some people say use it more and wait till you are at a build a blade up stage; then go medium on up.
Wats the solution that works best?
Some good questions Arthur, my friend. Check out a group we have called knife sharpeners. Here is the link:http://www.iknifecollector.com/group/knifesharpeners
I am confident they will enjoy your questions and give the answers you seek.

Hog, that's a very good question and I am sure you're gonna get alot of good answers. What I would like to know and I'll bet alot of other knife enthusiast would like to know is, when or how do you make the transition from a knife user to a knife collector? Every knife I buy I want to use it so bad and the ones I buy are limited to the those I would like to use. I guess thats a tough question, but you asked.
I truly would love to see us have a pin... I (heart) IKC or even just Ask me aboout IKnife Collector. I think wearing these to the shows would not only identify us to our friend here, it will grow interest with others at the show. Then you can hand them they flyer. I would be willing to do this
Hey JJ,
Whats the most effective way to get everyone going to the Blade show to wear one? I want to be able to recognize our fellow IKC folks and I think if we have alot of folks wearing them we will generate a good amount of interest.
It's been a staple of venders to wear badges at shows. I've used them as an attendee to identify myself as a member of a number of groups. If anyone attending a show would wear a badge it would be easy for members to identify other members also. (I had the good privilage of meeting Gary Kennedy and Frank Stennett, for the first time at the Palmetto Show, late last month.)
