Just got hold of a 530 Pardue for in the waistband EDC. Fits the bill to a tee. It's so thin and lightweight, it's hardly noticeable. I've taken a small half-round file and created a larger channel around the thumb stud areas for greater purchase and ease of deployment. It works great, and has a side benefit of now being able to be snagged/waved open from either the waist or the pocket. :)
I'm finding myself liking the smaller 3.5" models more and more, and the 530 fits that category very well. My model's the original 440C version and with minor finish loss and light scratches is still much loved. I'd say this, my 705 and newer 585-1 are my favorites of the bunch.
I'll add to this one...just picked up a 470 'Emissary' with aluminum scales and 3" S30V blade, and the assisted Axis mechanism on this little gem is slick. About the same size as a 350 or Alias II it's a keeper. I do suspect the scales, like their Ti bretheren, will show scuffs and light scratches from EDC carry, but that comes with the territory...we don't just LOOK at our knives do we? (;-)
I've wanted to get an Emissary...but have been waiting for people to comment about how they like it. You might just have convinced me to get it, Joe!
Richard,
My #1 EDC Benchmade is the model 610 Rukus, the 2007 Knife of the Year designed by Neil Blackwood. My #2 is the "LFK." designed by the knife artist extrordinaire, the amazing Ken Stiegerwalt, who would neither confirm nor deny that "LFK" stood for Large Fucking Knife!

Well, nowadays my preference has turned to the incredibly good Benchmade 755 MPR.  It has a very versatile blade length (considering laws), a very useful blade shape, very impressive steel, and perhaps the most comfortable and reassuring handle I have ever encountered.  You say, "But LBJ, it has an under 3" blade and is therefore useless for defense."  Limited, yes...but incredibly capable too.  The great handle, perfect lockup/locking mechanism, and massive strength throughout the design make it a formidable weapon if ever called upon.

I would like to thank Mr. Chris Stookey and Apophysis7 (from YouTube) for turning me on to this fantastic knife.

Nice comments on the 755. It's a good knife, not for everyone due to it's thickness, but will fit in a pocket for carry. Considering what the actual Siebert designs go for these days, the Benchmade version is a steal (forgive the pun...) (;-)
Thank you, Mr. Karp. Yes, the 755 is quite thick, but not to a point that bothers me. I suppose the pocket clip is a bit too tight and (depending on your pants) a bit too close to the handle scale. Quality wise, the 755 is very impressive for a production blade...not quite up to the truly unbelievable 630 Skirmish (which is the highest quality production knife I have ever seen) but certainly makes you feel you got your money's worth.

Yes, I have been looking around at the "real" MPR's...last one I saw was $2,300 and already sold. I don't know...I'm not really used to spending that kind of coin on a knife. Though, (if I could) I'd gladly drop 50 times that on something with "A. Lange & Sohne" on the dial. :) I guess it all depends on one's level of interest.

940 and 4
The 940's and 42

I like anything with the name Osborne on the blade.

Richard, my EDC is the 915SBK-ORG Triage. Hands down most versatile knife out there.
