NEWs FROM TUNA

Now, a new chapter has begun for Ryan and Courtney Daniels.  "Daniels Family Knife Brands" is offering the exiting new Excelsior Knife Company line of knives directly crafted by the knife makers that also design them.

They also are continuing the very popular Tuna Valley Cutlery Co. knife brand, marketed towards the contemporary collector.

Thanks to everyone for all their support over the years, and we hope to talk with you in person at one of the many knife shows we attend throughout the year! We have many projects on the horizon, and hope you check here often to see what is coming next.

My ultimate knife would be a Tuna Valley fishing knife. Based off the #12 frame, it would have two blades with a hook disgorger secondary. I think that would be very cool, a Tuna Valley fishing knife!!!

Right now, I'm just excited to see anything.

At the risk of repeating myself, I'd love to see a new Moose pattern knife in the 4 1/8" size, with polished and swedged blades and straight bolsters without the pinch, on the straight equal end cigar frame. With it's larger clip and spear blades and slim profile this simple two blade pattern seems like a dream of a multitasking knife to me. Ryan, I do also hope TVC will be issuing knives with wood handles, for those who don't want stag handles and might prefer the warmth and lower price of wood.

Ryan,

Great to know.  I see Sue is hoping for a mini coke bottle and stag would be a wonderful choice for that.  Ya'll know I am a whitler fan, so while we wait for the exciting news of what comes first....everyone tell us what you would like to see in patterns this year?

Jan no we will not be starting up our own factory again but will still be bringing unqiue parttern selections with only the best handle material (Stag what else). Were not giving any hints to our first pattern yet but when we do IKC will be the first to know.

Ryan and family,

So good to see you here.  Thank you for letting us know what direction you will be going and sharing more of where you have been.  I guess the biggest question I have heard is are you starting a new factory?  I appreciate your letting us know that you intend to stay USA made and we look forward to chating with you here.

Good luck Ryan, Good things come to those that do good, so you should have a winner in Tuna Valley Knives.

Nice to read your family history Ryan an I'm looking forward to this new chapter in your life in the trade! Having loved what you guys did at GEC I am eagerly looking forward to what you and your father will do with Tuna Valley Cutlery. Funny, my very first, and so far only but not for long, SFO knife was last year when I spearheaded the GEC #46 Buffalo Horn Sunfish with the help of the whole gang here at iKC! Glad to hear Ken likes Sunfish too and I do also have one of his Ken Daniels Cocobollo Sunfish which I love. Maybe there is a future for me too in the cutlery business! Ha haaaa!
