Do you have any folders that you will not carry for one reason or another?
For me it is a melon knife, just impractical and an old butterfly knife that u have not been able to get a decent edge on yet.

LOL, only a few hundred of them, some are just for the collection

Interesting question Bobby. I guess safety-of-use is the most important in my mind. I don't believe you're including an "out-the-front" OTF. but "No thanks". LOL  I slowly came around to never carrying a blade that does not lock. When you're busy on a project and have a dozen things on your mind, why take a chance on having a nasty gash. I won't say how you can do that. Someone may try to see if I'm right. Just take the word of someone who has done it, (as I look down at the scar). LOL

no folders-

fixed blades=YES... where im at if i walked around with fixed balde i would have cops on me in 5 mintes!...LOL!but iu still collect tos of them...LOVE EM!

I've never been keen on Doctor's knives but don't mind fruit/melon knives.

As to non locking blades, sorry but I love the traditional patterns and they don't lock.

Switchblades and butterfly knives are for the most part illegal to carry; some places even illegal to own so I'll not bother with hassles related to them.

I also won't bother with cheap Pakistani knives for their quality, sorry SMKW; nor will I own Chi-comm made knives due to political reasons not so much quality (which is quite slipshod as well with a few exceptions).

I echo Jan, only I'm not fortunate enough to have a few hundred.  I could carry my Case Trappers, but my pants would fall off.

EDC is a Benchmade 553, a Boker 140 yr camp knife, and a HAK.

I will not carry a knife that is too small, to do the job. I figure if a knife is too small to cut up an onion, it's too small to do my other task, I need a knife for.

So far there's only one that I haven't dare to carry for fear of messing up the flawless polished finish.

Everything else I own has at LEAST cut something once.

Will Not Carry - yes, Large Fixed blades. Not necessary for my minimal needs.

Will carry, but not use for more than opening mail - Yes, my Paul prototype knives & 2 of my Goldclass Benchmades.

Folders that I WILL NOT carry? Yes. Ones that are to big for my everyday "normal" uses. And ones that I don't have the nerve to carry in the collection. Not that I care about future value.....because I don't.....it's just doesn't seem right. LOL!

Forgot to add, all my knives have to be used at least once in the bush...Those that are not part of collections get traded/sold/gifted if they don't perform to my needs...I even used a Damascus/Mokume-gane/Mammoth ivory William Henry Lancet to fillet a small trout and now resides in a display case but it still was used.

I don't like to carry a large stockman or the small stockman. I have no problems with the medium sized stockman. But I rarely carry a stockman. I now carry a Buck 284 Bantam BBW Mossy Oak Blaze. It was given to me by my cousin for my birthday. She gave me a Buck 285 Bantam BLW for Father's Day. Her biological father isn't a proper dad, so I am so fortunate to be able to now be her dad.
