General INFO section...Knife world news and special links for input (POST THEM HERE) for all to enjoy!

I think over the years there have been so many knife sites and info sites, that I have read from page to page...that never get passed on to others and you end up having to surf to find them later..So I thought a special area earmarked just for those would be great...Since I am an avid Case collector and collector of the coke bottle shaped knives of all brands, there will be those links that interest me.

I hope to see the sharing of other members favorite info links so we can all have fast clicks to the world Library of Knives.

Sue

Thank yuo Sue.  I have always enjoyed those books.  Wish I could find more info on Mrs and how she carried on the books after losing her husband

This is one of my most utilized tools when doing research on knives.  It is extremely user friendly and just very interesting:

When I first composed this FAQ or The Knife Encyclopedia I filled it with information that I thought was unknown to most people, even those who really liked knives.

Recently I had a customer return a stock knife, He did not want it because the blades were "bent", I was stunned, I did not know that there was anyone who did not know that the cutler crinked the blades of any knife with two or more blades. A crink is a slight bend at the tang that lets you close the blades without them touching. Mr. Walter Gardiner the President of Schrade Cutlery of Ellenville New York was kind enough to send me a "Handbook of Knife Knowledge and Terms" published in the past by Schrade. I have taken from that booklet many common terms from the pocket knife field and added then to the Encyclopedia. I wish to thank Mr. Gardiner and Schrade for their help.

This Encyclopedia is the result of discussions with many friends including Don Cook and Larry Richter, who is a fine artist and who has volunteered to do the drawings that will make this information more helpful. These drawings will help expand the work greatly.

If you find errors, they will be mine and I will appreciate your bringing them to my attention. You will find that this is growing month by month as we add more information and as we find time.

Sue,

It really is an impressive list of research aids.  These days I always look here first and then Google .

consumer. We have a skilled and experienced work force capable of performing many  of the extra hand operations that go into the making of our products. The Bear & Son
Cutlery factory is unique. It is full self-contained. While some companies only assemble
parts brought from various suppliers and put their names on the product, we do
everything in-house from building our own blanking dies to heat treating, grinding and
assembly, and hand finishing our products. These steps insure that Bear & Son Cutlery

them affordable. We want everyone to be able to afford what we are proud to make!
Randall's Adventure & Training ® we feel our knives offer the real world a great knife
at a reasonable price, whether you're a backpacker looking for a decent carry knife or a soldier in the middle of combat. Throughout our history we have always concentrated
our efforts on listening to feedback from those who go and do, then doing our best to
build our knives at a price point users can afford. While researching & designing many
of our past projects, we have had the honor of working with some of the top teams in
the world, including the U.S. Marshals Service, USMS SOG teams, U.S. Special
Forces teams, Navy Special Boat Teams, Peruvian Special Forces, Colombian Police
Forces, the Peruvian Anti-Narcotics Task Force, survival experts, and outdoorsmen
and adventurers all over the world. Our designs have achieved quite the recognition
around the world, not because we're such great designers but because we listen and
work with the user in the field to achieve a common goal of building a great piece of
gear that works
Emerson Knives has a solid granite, if not legendary, status among the world's elite
military and Law Enforcement agencies. This is a hard earned and much honored  reputation for Emerson Knives. We fought tooth and nail for this reputation every step
of the way, and we will not relinquish it. This status is the result of the way that we
design our knives, the way we build our knives and the way we do our business. We
know that your life, the life of a partner, teammate, or a loved one may depend on the
use of that Emerson knife in a time of crisis. Emerson Knives is a serious company run
by serious people. That's the attitude we have about our knives, our work, and our
responsibility to you.
