Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I never was able to sharpen a knife worth a hoot with a stone.  This may be blasphemy to most users on this forum, but I use this little sharpener to keep my knives sharp.  It has a carbide coarse side and a ceramic fine side.  I use it on my carry knife and my wife's kitchen knives.  It keeps my Buck Omni Hunter sharp enough to field dress deer, even cutting through the pelvic bone.

Great Charles and thank you ...Exactly what I am  looking for! believe me not everyone is going to be happy using the same thing and using a stone or series of stones and grits is good but may not be right for everyone. This idea that you have to be a knifemaker or a 25 year expert at sharpening is ridiculous. many young folks who are just getting into knives want sharp knives and lack the experience to get it done!

If anyone would want to buy of them, KnifeCenter.com has them listed for $3.99.  I think I got mine at SMKW but I can't find them on their website now.

Yes I checked too they might be out, could be available somewhere else I can check knifecenter

KnifeCenter lists them In Stock.  I read the reviews on KnifeCenter.  Of seven reviews, all but one were 4 or 5 Star.  One reviewer only gave it 1 Star because you can't sharpen completely to the tang.  That is true, but on my knives only about the last 3/16 of an inch next to the tang can't be sharpened.  And even with a short blade like my Mini Blackhorn, I never cut anything with that portion of the blade.

OK thank you Charles a small piece that can't be sharpened but for most of what you would use anyway it a steal!

Smith may have some new Sharpeners now Charles and I want to explore what they have.

Steve, Smith's has a full line of sharpeners including various versions of the little two  step.  Here is the link to their catalog.

Quite a few things there Charles, including teaming with Mossy Oak for a Camo Sharpener.

Picked up one of the pocket pro model sharpeners recently to keep in my kit. Similar capabilities as the 2 step with the added benefit of a diamond sharpening rod for serrated blades.
