Has anyone here ever seen this box? Its a Schrade Cut Co that says Finest English Steel on the front. Most of the Schrade Cut Co Boxes I have seen say "Finest Cutlery Cruicible Steel"

Any ideas on how old the box is? Any info. would be much appreciated

Here are your photos-

John - First off the 2393 on the box indicates that the box held 2 bladed 3 1/2 inch regular jacks in bone stag.My thoughts are that your box was made about the same time as the crucible steel boxes that are more common, or possibly a few years earlier. My reasons- Except for the crucible steel/English steel line both boxes have the same graphics. Secondly, obviously not all steel is English steel, which was considered a major selling point in that time frame with the renown and history of Sheffield steel. It was thought  by many to be superior to early USA steel. Here are a couple of photos- One is a photo of 2 Schrade Cut. Co. boxes with the crucible steel imprint for comparison. The other is a Walden Knife Co. box that although an entirely separate company than Schrade Walden, was a company  in business from 1874-1923 and also advertised their knives as English steel.

Oops, forgot to mention the Schrade crucible steel boxes date to circa 1925-1930
