Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Of course I'm talking about the Swiss Champ. Sometimes called a toolbox for your pocket, the 3 1/2" Swiss Champ packs an impressive 33 implements, but is still compact enough to fit in your pocket or purse and can be used anywhere from the great outdoors to anywhere in the home.  Made in Switzerland and carries a lifetime warranty.

And it happens to be my latest Ebay acquisition, won with a winning bid for considerably less than half of what it would normally cost.

Here is the impressive list of tools:

  1. large blade
  2. small blade
  3. corkscrew
  4. can opener with
  5. -small screwdriver
  6. cap lifter with
  7. -screwdriver
  8. -wire stripper
  9. reamer
  10. key ring
  11. tweezers
  12. scissors
  13. toothpick
  14. multi-purpose hook (parcel carrier)
  15. wood saw
  16. fish scaler with
  17. -hook disgorger
  18. -ruler (cm + inches)
  19. nailfile with
  20. -metal file
  21. -nail cleaner
  22. -metal saw
  23. fine screwdriver
  24. chisel/scraper
  25. pliers with
  26. -wire crimping tool
  27. -wire cutters
  28. Phillips screwdriver
  29. magnifying glass
  30. ballpoint pen
  31. pin stainless
  32. mini-screwdriver
  33. sewing eye

And here are some photographs:

It also came with the very nice optional leather sheath, pictured above. It will now become part of my daily carry, replacing a Swiss Champion which packs the same tool set but lacks the pliers that are found on the Champ.

Here is a picture of some of my Swiss Army Knives resting in their assigned drawer:

I would love to see some pictures of your Swiss Army Knives, whether they be Victorinox or Wenger. In my humble opinion these knives are some of the best, most useful, tools ever produced. Their quality is always superb and, even if it's just a Victorinox Classic, you can usually find one in darned near every man's pocket, and many women's purses as well.

That's my story of Swiss excellence for today. What's your experience with Swiss Army Knives?

Cheers!

I guess SAK's get no love around here?

Oh no! Well I have been away for awhile. I love your photos. I have a couple of SwissChamps and also one of those SwissChamp XLT models. I always carry a Champ with me when I travel but it is in my personal bag not the pocket or belt.

See Ron I told you there were still some SAK Lovers out there! LOL Good to see you Wayne almost a number 1 SAK Master!

Steve, Wayne is and always will be the #1 SAK Master in my book! Not only does he have a great collection of SAK's, he is also a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge pertaining to all things Swiss! It's always good to see his typeface!

Cheers, y'all!

I will bring in the couple I have for a photo shoot tomorrow. We will populate this group with some pics.

Brad, please do post some pics of your SAK's in here! "The more the merrier" has always been my motto!

In fact, I have been a little lazy with my postings recently, also. I have a Victorinox Handyman with a nice leather sheath that I recently acquired and need to take some pictures of.

But, yes! By all means, please do post some SAK pics -- This Group could use an infusion of Swiss excellence!

I like your champ. I also have one I bought new earlier this year. I need to get some pics on here. I love the sheath , I don't have one for mine yet. Just picking that knife up  makes me want to fix something !

Here is my Kitchen sink Champ along with a 58mm pearl, and a Fisherman model.

Ron , that's a nice aquisition in black-a lot of mine are also from Ebay USA, more so the Bucks I have

Ricky,

Thanks for sharing your SAK's with us! I really like that pearl Classic! Is that a Knife Roll in what appears to be red (p)leather with the two buckles? If it is, I would really like to see a pic of it opened up -- If that would be possible?

Cheers!

Thanks, George!

Yep! Ebay is the place to get a great deal on a Victorinox or Wenger knife. There are numerous Sellers who buy large lots of airport confiscations, clean them up and auction them off on Ebay. I would venture to guess that about 75% of the SAK's I currently own are from auctions like that.

Sadly, airport confiscations after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 are what almost killed Victorinox and Wenger. Here is a link to an interesting article about how Carl Elsener of Victorinox steered his Company away from financial disaster: How The Swiss Army Knife Survived 9/11

Cheers, my friend!

Ron , Here are some pics of my knife roll. It is from SMKW and is really good quality. The brand is Hickory Hill. The other two cases are what I like to use to separate brands, they are from Amazon and cost about $14 each and are descent quality also.
