Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Its been a while I have some trouble in understanding the SD alox 58mm by victorinox. I noticed that some of them have the key-ring on their right and some others on their left. Most of the collectors I contacted have the same categorization on those aloxes. They say there are the standard ones (the picture on top left) and the EU models (top right). But its obvious that here are many more colors, some o them really rare. I want to know WHY DO SOME HAVE THE KEYRING ON THE LEFT AND SOME ON THE RIGHT. I put some pictures of my collection on the lower line, separating them according to the keyring location. Is there anyone who knows anything more on the colors?

In the two photos above; how do the scissors open? Do they open on the opposite end of the key ring in all knives?

Such as in this photo:

Could you take a phot of one each in the open position?

Hmm, this made me run back to the knifes, never thought to check this out. All the knifes open like your Star Of David SD.

So the Key Ring is always to the spine side of the blade when opened.  This means that in some of the knives, the scales have been flipped so that the obverse side in now the reverse side.   There have been at least three editions of Alox Classics.  The Initial release (1)  which was world wide, then a Euro-Classic in 2007 (2)  which was later released in the US (3).  And finally a 2013 France limited Edition (4).  Each release featured  some new colors.  I was unable to see any info on if the scales were flipped  on release but my guess is the early info you received is correct.  Check out the SAK Wiki.  It may give you more information.  http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Classic
