My experience is with the similar but slightly longer 5.125" blade of the S1 model which I carry every day in the city or the field as my primary defensive knife. Since there are more knife fighters per square mile here in Houston than anywhere but Sicily, carrying it openly all the time presents a certain message. Many have asked to see it, and admire it. We have a 5.5" carry limit, and here in Texas you do not break the law willy nilly. The F1 would be perfect for this application, and a perfect bushcraft knife.
Here is my S1, given me by my wife when I retired last March:
Our friend Jenna has commissioned some of the most remarkably beautiful knives I've ever seen, and her F1 is a masterpiece, as tough as it is beautiful.
Occasionally in Starbucks or another restaurant I will discretely take the knife and cut a tough outside cut of BBQ that will not yield to the tableware. Once an undercover Sheriff at the next table said "That's a Fallkniven, isn't it? May I see it?" Then we admired each other's 1911s with a discrete opening of our jackets. Here, all good men stand together. Turns out that's a pretty nice BBQ joint admired by all the locals.
These several similar knives are regarded as the finest survival, hunting and fishing knives in history. I have every Randall knife, and have for 45 years, and I carry Fallkniven EDC.
