Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

We are the old knife collectors here, right? We are the ones who truly appreciate vintage knives, so show us the oldest favorite knife you got.
A little info about it would be helpful too.

If you need help figuring out how to load a picture in your post, give me a hollar.

Here's one of my favorites, even though it doesn't have a button, that dates to about 1880. The blades are marked Clements Sheffield predating the McKinley Tarriff act of 1898. Huge at just over 6" closed and weighs a ton. Interesting folding adjustable shotshell extractor. Dynamite stag. Enjoy.

That is a fine knife there Alex. Love the handles!

This is my favorite old knife.  My grandmother got it at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis.

Great knives guys. Alex that is a beautiful old sportsman's knife. Thanks for showing it. The McKinley act was introduced in 1890. With that style of can opener and a button hook it could very well date circa 1890 to WWI.

Just realised that the original post was 3 1/2 years ago. Oh well.

Nice shoe knife Charles. Are the scales Bakelite or similar? They don't seem to have shrunk much given the age.

Not sure of the age but this old eye brand stays on my desk. Not pretty but there is just something about it that I like. I use it all the time.

The scales could be bakelite I suppose.  They are a hard black material.  I'm not knowledgable of what they typically used for scales back then.  The little knife still snaps shut.

My favorite is this Shapleigh D-E Medium stockman with Smooth bone scales. I got off eBay last year.

This is one of my favourite old US made knives. It's a Pal Blade Co from 1930s.

My favorite vintage knife is the 1902 case and son doctors knife

One of my Favorites is this old Robeson

My favorite old knife would have to be one of these two. I love all things Schrade..pre 2004... but I also love the old EZ openers. The tang stamp on the Schrade Cut Co. dates it between 1917-1946 so it's at least 69 years old. Gotta love the peachseed bone handles. The knife is 3-1/4" If anyone has any idea as to it's model # I would appreciate the info. The Imperial Prov. R.I. EZ opener has U.S.A. on the secondary blade and I am assuming it was WWII issue..correct me if I'm wrong. The Green jigged bone handles really catch my eye.

Here is my favorite "old" knife, (though not my most treasured "old" knife, that being my dad's Kinfolks fixed blade. This is my favorite "old" slip joint). New York Knife Company, Hammer Brand Equal End Pen Knife 2 3/4" closed, brown jigged bone handles. Hammer Brand belonged to NYK until they dissolved in 1929, so this knife pre dates that.  A friend found a 3 1/4" version listed in a 1922 catalog, but we haven't found any reference to a pen knife of this size yet. It could possibly be as old as 1885. My favorite golden oldie.
