The community is invited to come on down to the Diner & General Store. Take a chair on the porch and sit a spell. Visit with your neighbors and see what's going on in town.
Uncle Wiskers-
Where is that big basket of peach pits picture you put up here? Or it might have been a discussion topic...it was back 4 or 5 months ago. I"m trying to find it.

It took all my will power last nite watching the knive show from smkw. I could have went broke on that blackjack, cc, case, queen, etch. My trouble is the next day I still remember their phone number. Frank
Will be going to smkw for rep. weekend. The wife walks around with me, but when I start my purchasing she goes and sits in the car and reads. I don't allow rolling pins and guns on the trip. I've been fortunate, she never complains about knife collecting. Not yet anyway. We met a man the other day who had almost a thousand knives. One of the nicest gentlemen you would ever want to meet. Frank
Hey folks, We're headed to the North Carolina mountains for the weekend, to pick some fresh apples and get a few gallons of fresh pressed cider. Uncle Silas and Miss. Maude are going with us, this trip. If anything comes up contact Sarah. :-) She's in charge till we get back Sunday night or Monday morning.
Skinning tip .. Set parking brake & jack up drive tire ~ 1" off pavement .. @ a speedometer reading of 5~8 mph .. feed carcass between pavement & spinning tire ..

Ok I admit I was in the cave, as the owner of the wine called it, but didn't taste a drop. :( as to the count, hellifiknow what happened. New members go to the next highest number available. So how 2500 became 2501, I don't have a clue. Wonder if someone who quit came back or something. Good thing I didn't give one of our few remaining club knives as an award (thought about it) it would have cost me two:). Did the original 2500 gentleman ever come back yet? :)
Crawfish Stew.....sautee, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper, 1 stick of celery and 1 clove of garlic in 1 stick of butter on low heat for 5 minutes or until tender. Add 1 pint of water 1 can whole tomatoes or Roytel and several spoonfulls of roux. Salt pepper or cajun seasonall. simmer for awhile . Then add 1 pound of crawfish or shrimp, a little onion tops and parsely. cook a little longer and serve over cooked rice. To make a roux use equal amounts of all purpose flour and cooking oil. Preheat oil then stir in flour, stirring constantly, cook until deep golden brown. take away from heat......Bon Appetit

Think I'll put one in a frame and hang it in the diner.
I also e-mailed a copy to my wife, and offered to autograph it for her.

Round here, recipes have lots of measurements like "Some of this, "A Bit of that", and "A hand-full of the other".
We always finish it off with either "Salt to taste" or "Add Tabasco to taste".
No one has died from it. (Recently...)
