    Frank,

Need to keep the duck for inspiration.

    Go to fullsize image

After you master it, you'll be able to see how far you've come, then if you want, you can make some toothpicks.

I can relate with the diabetic problems Arthur.

Bass is a good wood to carve.  Not too hard and nice grain.

Check out the book; Whittling and Woodcarving.  Only book that I've found that includes anything on pits.

    ps.  it's a Freightliner...(loaded with beer.)

I hope every one is able to get some fresh vegtables. I grow a large garden so I have plenty but for those that can't grow them they should be reasonably priced this time of year. Soooo good.
  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

Soil is so sandy here and the pests so prolific it is difficult to have a good garden but I have been buying from the local farmers and putting up.  This time of year I could live on just fruits and veggies!!

  • stephen tungate

how bout gator stew with them fruits and veggies....
  • Jan Carter

    YUM

Hey Guys and Gals, here is how I learned to fix fish or Gator. Cut about a pound of fish or gator into small strips, mix with Bold and Spicy Mustard. Take a paper bag put 1 cup of Flour and 1/2 cup of corn meal and Cajon spices to your own taste into the bag. Shake well and put the meat into the bag and shake again. deep fry until golden brown. ENJOY
  • Jan Carter

    Michael,

That sounds like a heck of good dinner to me.

    Robert,

When did we get old enough to have grandchildren that age?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Right now, my grand daughters are 17 and 19, my daughter would be 41 and old paw paw coyote is 61.lol.....I have no idea how old the gator is....lol
  • Jan Carter

Well my friend that is a pretty lively 61.  Our grands range from 14 down to just 9 months.  Your blessed to have them close, ours are all in ATL.   As a Gators fan I am probably a cannibel for saying this but I love fried Gator tail.  But there is no accounting for my taste either I like snails also

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I have had my Grand daughters since they were in diapers and would not have changed that for all the money in Louisiana.
  • J.J. Smith III

No grand kids here.  My girls are 11 and 14.  (We started late.)

    Gater sounds good...

  • Jan Carter

    JJ,

Nothing wrong with starting late.  Enjoy them while they are growing up, when you look back it seems like it was just a few days that you were able to share with them.

They say girls will take care of you in your old age.
  • Frank Stennett

We raised two girls. They are now 50 and 46. Wouldn't have it any other way.
  • Frank Stennett

Went to the gun and knife show in Charleston today. Sorry to say I came home empty handed. Slim pickings.
  • Frank Stennett

When we get around to eating that gator, maybe we could have some frog legs for an appetizer.
  • John Pierce

J.J. Do they serve biscuits and gravy?
  • Jan Carter

    John,

Come on in, I am sure JJ can find you something...Just don't ask what kinda meat is in that gravy

  • stephen tungate

i know you can gig a frog but can you gig a gator?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris
