  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

The chili was very good and you could not tell there was chocolate in it.
  • Jan Carter

    Robert Burris

Miss Jan, here're a couple pictures of the inside of the cottage.

  • Billy Oneale

    Nice work, Robert.
  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

That is really looking nice.  When are they moving in?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I think next week I can get some help to move the furniture in, so maybe next week. Not bad for an old cripple Paw paw.lol...She said if you click on the picture it gets full size. The cottage is 32 feet inside and a 4 foot porch. I have a Fedders heat/cool unit in it, for comfort.

  • J.J. Smith III

    Lookin' good, Robert.

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Thanks JJ. it took alot out of me, not counting the money.

  • J.J. Smith III

I guess that when it's all said and done, when it comes to the "kids", it's not about the money...

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

That's right JJ. they are more valuable than money. But just think of the knife collection I could have...lol

  • Jan Carter

    Now Robert,

You know your willing to trade a few knives for the memories of having them there with you LOL.  Heck any of us would

We all bring two dishes to the dinner. I ussualy bring deer roast and green bean casarole. This year, I am bringing wild pork roast instead. Them city slicers better eat it...lol

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

The tradition around here is that right after dinner that all the deer hunter take off for their hunting destinations. It's the biggest deer hunting weekend of the year. It is wild, the highways are filled up with hunters. The public hunting grounds are full and the private areas are just the same. I am so lucky to be going to a private, fenened in exotic hunting ranch for opening weekend.

  • J.J. Smith III

Turkey,  dressin',  rice w/giblet gravy, bean salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls and homemade punkin pie.

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I just want to say that the hunting ranch is 1500 acres fenced in, I didn't want anyone to think it was in a pen or something. God bless have a great Holiday.

  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

I was fairly certain you wouldnt participate in shooting ducks in a barrel.

  • Jan Carter

Well that was the last of the Thanksgiving Dinner (what didn't go in the freezer).  So whats for dinner tomorrow JJ?  Roberts out on the hunt so he cant help me figure it out.  TAG YOUR IT!!!

  • J.J. Smith III

Hey, we still got leftovers.  Just had a "midnight snack" too.

Soon as that settels some, I'm gonna go after the punkin pie.

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Enough of all that Thanksgiving food, I'm having gumbo tonight.

  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

LOL...I am with you...Shecrab soup for dinner tonight

  • J.J. Smith III

I'm in the mood for a simple burger...

  • Jan Carter

We would like more red onions please and some jalepenos and wickles relish

    Wickles Relish

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

That pepper relish looks like a cajun dish called Chow chow. We started moving furniture in the cotage today.

  • Jan Carter

We love Chow Chow too.  This is a little less thick and is more of a Hot pickle relish.  You should try it Robert.  Are both girls going to be in the cottage Robert?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

No, the youngest one will stay with us in the house. The cotage is just across the yard so I'm sure they will get together alot. When I built my house, I made it a two bed room with large rooms. I had no idea I would be raising two grand childern. This just lets us spread out a little...lol

  • Billy Oneale

Robert, you never know what life will throw at you , do you?

  • J.J. Smith III

I was thinkin on some white onion to add.  That relish do look good...hadn't had any good chow-chow since my mom passed.

Roberts next building project will be the covered walkway from house to cottage...

then they'll have him wall it in too...

  • stephen tungate

how beans with that relish and cornbread....

  • J.J. Smith III

The wife made some craklin cornbread in muffin pans, last month.  Came out great, especially if you like the crust edges of a pone.

  • Jan Carter

    Ok,

    Stephen you cook the beans

JJ, your wifes got the pones

    I will bring the relish

and we will all meet at Roberts house

  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

We may neglected to mention.....while you were off on your trip we took a vote and repurposed your new cabin.  We certainly hope you enjoy it as much as we have

  • J.J. Smith III
