  • Ron Cooper

  • Jan Carter

Gotta love the BBQ left overs!!!

  • J.J. Smith III

Seems like ribs, out of the fridge, are the best.

I just grilled up some fresh fish and veggies for my little family, they love it. I wish I knew a better way to cook it. I have to do batch after batch. The pans I use are too small I guess. It's such a great way to eat fish and veggies though.

  • Jan Carter

veggie pizza, wings, cantaloupe, blackberries and blueberries

    Robert Burris

Oh yea, we eat alot of blue and black berries. We had a little blue berry muffin type cake last night. Hog, I guess this is the time of year for alot of fish dinners.

  • J.J. Smith III

We had a hotdog cookout at Karate/BJJ.

Enjoying homemade strawberry ice cream as I type.

  • Lee Saunders

I had half fried/half baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed corn (can't wait til we get our fresh white corn season in July!!) and rolls. dunno about dessert tonight.  I am full right now.

  • Ron Cooper

I had a triple cheeseburger, fries and a Dr. Pepper at "In n' Out," a California drive-thru franchise that is famous for serving burgers made with only the freshest of fresh ingredients. I always order the same thing; a "3 by 3." -- 3 patties of meat and 3 slices of cheese, no lettuce, with raw onion and tomato ~ show me the beef, baby! Fries and a soda! One word: YUM!

  • Lee Saunders

In & Out 3x3 is THE bomb!  Although I like me some grilled onions...and a shake.  oh yeh...

  • Ron Cooper

uh huh, uh huh! that's what i'm talkin' about -- indeed! you sound like a man with a discriminating palate, mr. saunders. but, i'll thank you, just the same, to give me my un-yohn raw, if you please. +1 on the choco shake, tho!

  • stephen tungate

    Robert Burris

I sent out for Pizzas tonight, not to dirty the kitchen. On Mothers Day, we are going to her sisters in another town [Lafayette, La.]. They are city slickers, no telling what we will eat...lol

  • Jan Carter

Cant wait to hear about that menu Robert

  • Frank Stennett

Well JJ I broke my first peach pit. Will try again later.

  • J.J. Smith III

Some of the ones, that are available now, are soft.  Best pits come out around the middle-end of June to the middle of July.  We bought a basket of local peaches, only found 1 whole pit so far (the others have been split).  See lesson 3 in the Pit Carving discussion.

Wait till later in the season for the best pits.  (Peaches taste sweeter around this time too.

    Keep us posted, frank.

Well Miss Jan, they had fruits, veggies and cheese. It was sorta buffet style. Everything was raw, oh except for some cookies and crackers. It was good, I enjoy that type of meal some times.

  • Jan Carter

    Robert,

That is an everyday type of meal for us during the week.  I like it, especially when all good fruits are in and its hot outside!

Todays my youngest Grand daughter's birthday, cooking a special super, with cake and all that. I bought her a ring that cost a couple of custon knives, oh well, I'll get another custom one day.lol....Oh, she's 18 years old, boy that makes me feel not so young any more....I don't want to say old.

  • Jan Carter

Not old Robert.  We simply date from an earlier time :)

  • Ron Cooper

Yeah! In dog years I'm not even 10 yet.

Tell that baby grand girl that an ol' codger from iKC said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

    And, here's her card...

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Thanks ya'll, I forgot to tell ya'll about the car I'm gonna get for her. Oh lord, it'll be a second hand job but not to shabby. The knives....the knives ...I could have bought.....Ha, no problem, she's the sweetest little girl in the world.

  • Billy Oneale

Robert, tell her Happy Birthday. I can attest to kids keeping those of us that date from a different time hopping and active. It's all good.

  • J.J. Smith III

Dog years?  I'm pushing 8.  My oldest will be 16 in August.  Not sure about keeping me young or not, but I'm cultivating a nice crop of gray hair.

Be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday from the diner staff...

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Thanks everyone, for cheering me up.

  • Jan Carter

    JJ,

The gray looks wonderful on you.  Our oldest will be 45 in august

  • Billy Oneale

Ha! Ha!, J.J. you are getting to the interesting years in child raising. My oldest is almost 33. I keep my hair short so the gray doesn't show so bad.

  • J.J. Smith III

Well, we just started late.  We'd been married for 17 years when she came along.  I get mine cut about 4 times a year,  If I ever start loosing it, I'd just go over it with my clippers.  LOL
