Bought me a new EDC. It's a little different for an old knife guy like me- pun intended. It is not a "pocket knife." Instead you wear in. Makes lots of sense to me. Actually it clips in a holster that is clipped on my belt, but I can't wear it to work or on my next flight. :)
If you are curious check it out.
Don't laugh cause its my first venture outside of the ol' traditional pocket knives.
  • Ian McEntee

That's a weird looking knife Scott. How is it for actual use?

Looking around their site, they have several weird looking knives, but they also have a few that look like nice gentleman's folders.

Gave my 19 year old daughter (my oldest) a spyerdco with her name engraved on it tonight when she came home for the weekend.... don't know if it will be an EDC for here or if it will simply be here hiking knife, but she really liked it. It is here first knife.
  • Dave White

Way to go Scott, ...I make sure my two neices are not wanting for cutlery and defensive items too. They are 18 and 22 yrs. old, and are both appreciative of my efforts. I intend to give Kimberlee an engraved SAK for graduation.
  • george morningstar

scott good presant for your daughter, i have my wifes, and 2 of our daughters birthdays in july last year i got them the rr lady leg knives the pink ones that support breast cancer they loved them , i even found pink pepper spray at bps that had support the cause on them and gave to our oldest daughter who works and lives in baltimore city she also dose the walks and things for breast cancer.

Both versions, 110 and 112, are very nice. I have several iterations of the 110 and like all of them, but they're somewhat on the heavy side. I recently bought a 112 and, for carrying, like it much better. Also fits my hand better. I'm now looking at possibly getting a Case Mako.

From the reports of AKTI and KnifeRights, our EDC's are safe for now. I know the House must vote on the amendment, and then I'm told the Prez must sign it- hope we don't have a hiccup there.

Got me a bona fida EDC today...maybe I should say I ordered it. The knives I have gotten lately have all been SO BIG (like 10 inches long-open), plus they are like collectible to me) so I decided to buy one just to be an EDC. It's only like 3 3/4" long closed and will ride in my pocket- I didn't want an clip.
It's one I am going to use, scratch and pry stuff with :) I've always wanted to put up every knife I have bought. It's the Strider PT-CC. I'll post a pic when it comes in. Got it from Plaza Cutlery- Dan's a good guy.

  • Roché

I have had one of the prototype/early version cKc Hikers for about two months now. I love that little blade. Can't wait to get the new full tang version. Kyley is a great guy to work with and does good work!

I'm tallying the counts for the favorite knife contest here, but decided to leave it open for new collectors joining us. I can tell by the date stamp the ones counting toward my deadline of Saturday nite.

Bought another edc yesterday at the Charleston SC gun and knife show. A new 1989 case stag two , yes I said two blade stockman. It feels so good in my pocket. Yes I got a little something for the collection to. Don't want the display case to get jealous. Got to lay low now till I get smkw for rep weekend. Frank
  • Frank Stennett

This group is growing. Thanks Scott
  • Jake Mortensen

ok cargo poants suck for carrieing extra knives...i like my ak-47 but u get some looks when u whip it out so it was in a lower pocket so i still could whip it out but it wasnt my main blade for that day...well first it was there then it wasnt D'= now im out $70 it was only a week old and i got it on vacation wich makes it even worse
  • Ian McEntee

    That sucks man.

I dunno what kind of pants you have, but I carry my multi-tool and a flashlight in my cargo pockets everyday and not once have they fallen out.
  • Jake Mortensen

it wasnt in the pocket with the flap there was a pocket behinde the that. it was in there because it seemed to work and was very easliy accecable
  • Richard Reed

Sorry to hear that jake , i would be kinda upset if i would loose my knife. =/
  • Dennis Todd (Bear)

I wear cargo pants almost every day I have never lost a knife from the lower pockets sorry to hear you lost a nice knife like the AK47 but I did loose a knife this last week end but it was my fault for not paying attention when I pulled my keys our was a small knife

can't get my hands on my edc today....hope I didn't lose it :(.....it's gotta be around here somewhere.....
  • Alan Foley

should i try the cold steel pocket bushman
  • Ian McEntee

KnifeCollecter, I wouldn't bother. Nutnfancy, and Cutlerylover have both had a horrible time with that knife, and it hardly seems worth even trying for me.

If you wanna see what problems they had just look it up on Youtube.

Antti- yes, it was the Strider, but am happy to report- I found it :) Thanks for your concern. I was going to be hacked off if it was gone.

Hey - Where have you guys been? or (where have I been?) - If anybody should belong to this group - I should! Ha , ha - I never get dressed without at least 2 knives on me! And if I'm not dressed - I wear my neck knife! I think we are going to have fun here! Have a good day. "Lonewolf"
  • kenneth noob

hahaha "And if I'm not dressed - I wear my neck knife!"
i carry a knife when i walk around the house in my pjs.
  • Nate Andrews

lol how do you guys feel about carrying a folder in your boot? i've recently been walking around with a gerber evo in my boot mainly because i practice throwing with it.i tried wearing my skate shoes the other day and i couldn't do it cause it didn't feel right without a knife down there. whats ya'lls opinions on the subject.
  • Nate Andrews

where are you at that it's illegal?
  • Nate Andrews

no its all good. yeah i don't know irelands laws but i do know that the U.K. you cant have any knife that locks.
  • Nate Andrews

yeah its like that here too....i just kept the folder in my boot cause i've had run ins before at work and idk about you but i hate being tied up.
  • Tom Eskridge

I always have at least two knives on me at all time, and some times three or four. It just depends on where I am and what I am doing! I used to carry my good knives with me but, I ruined a couple of them too! Then I started carrying some cheap knives with me but, they don't always live up to the jobs they are called on to do. I ended up stopping into a builders supply house down in Louisville, KY one day, and ended up finding two different sizes of a Smith and Wesson "Gold Shield" knife, and I could not turn down the price. I have these on me at all times now. If I'm camping, I carry an extra, a Cold Steel two blade folding Hunter that does great for just about anything and especially kitchen duty. If I am heading way back in the woods then, I carry another extra and that is a JK (John Kiedaisch) handmade Kephart. That one is the one that I treasure most in my collection! It is a working collectible! If you don't know anything about John's knives you should check him out at (jkhandmadeknives.com) when you have a chance. Be sure to tell him Frontiertom sent you! Thanks for letting me add my two cents worth! Later! Frontiertom
