  • John Bamford

I like what can be seen of the 47 Viper, just the set up visible at the moment, but looks like a Wharncliffe to me.

  • Ken Mundhenk

  • Jan Carter

That is one sweet knife, Steve. Miss Jan, must have quite a few Beavertails by now....lol

  • Jan Carter

Bought a knife for Donnie this weekend.  I knew he would love it but I did not expect my reaction to it.  This 2009 Tidioute reminded me of what I loved about this company when they first came out.  This old 73 has that look and feel of all the original GEC's.  I am not saying there is not a good knife coming out of the factory nowdays but I have to tell you, they dont give me the same feel I got from these old ones

When I try to go to GEC website I get this message from AVG,

This link on greateasterncutlery.net is unsafe for browsing

  • Ron Cooper

    John,

Here is a screenshot I just took of the GEC website after checking it with my Avast antivirus software. It shows that the site is safe...

I don't know why your AV software is showing that message? But, I can certainly appreciate your concerns.

  • John Bamford

Thanks Ron, I will try again in a day or two. I was just going to check on the Viper and see if it's going to be available in Blackwood , think I am starting a habit with this handle material !

  • J.J. Smith III

There's something going on with my access also.

What do you think will be this years Rendezvous Knife?

  • Jan Carter

I wish I knew Robert, this will be the first year we have ever missed :(

  • Jan Carter

    .

  • jeff

ivars... i believe you have there an old northfield ... not gec

  • Jan Carter

Ivars, I just saw this.  I will do some research in the Tidoute book by David Anthony today for you and see if Germany was stamped on those originals.  I have seen many of them but never one in this pristine condition nor with the German stamp

  • Jan Carter

Well I saw no reference to Germany produced Northfields but there is a reference worth looking at.  1884-1890 Northfield used the Excelsior Cutlery Company name as a subsidiary in their business.  Modern Excelsiors are made in Germany
