The community is invited to come on down to the Diner & General Store. Take a chair on the porch and sit a spell. Visit with your neighbors and see what's going on in town.
I've been messing with dogs all day and both my girls are heading out, one is going to work and the other is going to the show. I might just eat dog food tonight..lol
If it's the new "natural" dog foods it might be better than a lot of people food! LOL!
We've been buying Sophie some specialty dog cookies that look like Animal Crackers. We looked at the ingredients and it was about the same as people cookies except no sugar.......sooo, we tried one. It tasted better than the people stuff! LOL!
It was a party to celebrate one of my dearest friend's daughter graduating from high school on Friday evening. The young lady's name is Jadee and it has been my honor to watch her grow up. One of her uncles who used to own a very popular sushi restaurant prepared everything you see in the pictures above. And there was 3 times as much still being refrigerated. I felt like I had died and woke up in sushi heaven! I LOVE sushi!
And below is a pic of Jadee and I right before I turned into a little piggy (oink oink)...
Jadee has been accepted and will be matriculating at the University of California Riverside this Fall. She is an accomplished and talented artist and attended Arcadia High School here in California. She was their Pep Commissioner in her senior year and a Cheerleader during all 4 years of her high school attendance.
I call Jadee my Chinese granddaughter. I am very proud of this young woman! And, with a feast like this I told her that I wished she would graduate more often!
Congrats to Jadee, Ron, and that looks like it was one heck of a party!! Last night for me was simple fare. White beans w/ ham, fried chicken, cole slaw, hush puppies and buttermilk.
Just finished my Father's Day breakfast fixed for me by my daughter. Scrambled eggs very dry just the way I like them and bacon very crisp. (My daughter says burnt!)
At a restaurant when they ask me how i like my meat cooked, I just tell them, "When the smoke alarm goes off, it is done!"
We're having surf and turf with veggies. Char coil broil fish and beef, oh yea and veggies. All broiled on the pit. An Apple pie from my mother, will finish us off, latter. Happy Fathers Day to all the men that stood up to their responsibilities for their children. Bless ya'll.
We got home at around 1:00PM, got Karlee packed back up for Church Camp. Went out and I got me some killer hot wings at our favorite Mexican resteraunt.
Craig, it's hard for a man to care for children, with out a good women. I know, I would not have come as far as I have in life without my wonderful wife.
Cass and I will have been married 45 years come July 13th. Been together for 48 years. The pastor who married us, when we were at the ripe old age of 18, said our souls were meant to be together.
Guy's, ya'll are blessed to have a great lady for so long. My wife passed away last year after 42 years of marriage and 2 years of dating in high school. When we got married I was 19 and she was 20 years old. She robbed the cradle. lol She came from a large family of 9 brothers and sisters. They said it would never last, we were too young. Well out of 9 children, we were the only ones that stayed together till the end.
Hah, Hah, I'm cooking deer and smoked Cajun pure pork sausage with okra. Miss Jan loves okra, I know she would love this stuff. We serve it on rice with crackers or a toasted French bread. Hot dog, it's gonna be good. Cas cest Bon.
The Okra is smothered [cut and cooked down] the deer and smoked sausage is cooked till tender with onions, bell peppers, celery and garlic in roux and water with a Cajun seasonal. I'm gonna, mix the okra and gumbo together, to make it an Okra Gumbo. I wish I could serve ya'll a big bowl.
Craig, it's left overs, tonight. I love left overs, when their as good as these. Craig, if I am able, I'm gonna, make and send you some hot sauce. If you start rubbing your butt on the flour, it's not my fault...lol
I love corn on the cob. I remember growing up on the farm, we would pick field corn before it got hard for eating. Field corn makes the best roastin' ears!
I love corn on the cob too. When it's fresh, we would leave the shucks on the cob and soak it in a tub of water a while. Then we would put it on the Bar-B-Que pit, off to the side of the fire. We would cook it long enough till tender. Some times add a little more water on it. Yum Yum, roasting ears.

It'll have to be road food tomorrow, Robert. Still in hotlanta.
Karlee gave me her best in her matches. Both wins. Made her old dad real proud.
I think that she'll be moved up to the expert division, by October.
(EDIT) Sorry guys it is Karlee. Typing on the tablet is not easy with my big ol hands.

J.J., are you just trying to confuse me? I thought that champion's name was Karlee, not Marlee?
But, what's that Shakespeare line about "a rose by any other name" still smelling as sweet.?
Happy Father's Day, proud papa! And congratulations, Champ! You go, girl!!!
