Well guys and gals, it's cold and nasty and just the right weather for a Gumbo. So tonight is rabbit and smoked deer/pork sausage . On rice of course.

 John, we love corn bread.

Cass is making all the potatoes in the morning. Then we're going over to our younger son's house for Thanksgiving.

Today for Thanksgiving-we are having: Turkey, Venison Steaks, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Green Bean casserole, Salads, Macaroni and Cheese, Homemade Rolls, Pecan and Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate chip cookies and Ice Cream.

I cooked a Brisket beef roast for 6 1/2 hours yesterday. My oldest grand daughter made a green bean casserole. We are all going to my brother and sister in-laws for the feast. Everyone brings two dishes. I usually bring a deer roast but this year, I haven't gotten one yet.

A nap for sure Steve. John, we have a bunch coming here for Thanksgiving but there always room for more.

Turkey Breast, Ham with blackberry/maple/clove glaze, dressing, candied yams. fresh cranberry sauce, mustard and turnip greens, rutabagus, fresh yeast rolls

Thanksgiving at my brothers. Turkey, oyster dressing (you Southerners thought us Yankees didn't know about that, LOL),candied yams,green bean casserole,cranberries,salads, etc.etc. Plus a whole separate room of the house devoted just to dessert !! Throw in KNIVES, football, a houseful of family and friends and some adult beverages- What more can any man ask for ??

I'm stuffed!!

Chinese food today! What a change from yesterday! LOL!

Turkey today. Tis the season for Turkey. 

Well I think Thanksgiving is done.  Donnie had leftover Thanksgiving and I had left over Chinese.  Bring on the salads!!!

Time for my favorite..........Turkey sammiches!

I had my Turkey sammiches. Now I feel complete. I can make it to Christmas.

Bacon Eggs and Fried taters - Deer steaks, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn and Chocolate brownies. Been a full day.\

Its suppose to be real icy and freezing here the next 3-4 days, our power might go out.

Hey, you guys and gals making plans for cooking for Chirstmas? I am starting to think about it.

Steve, we are suppose to get 4-6" also.  Let her blow.

We have to plan for food on Christmas day and for Christmas Eve party! 

Hamburgers with an egg on them........and cheese. Everything is better with cheese.

Its suppose to be single digits here this next week - down to 3 degree. I think its over for today but more ice on Sunday.

Now that sounds like fun.

Planning Christmas menus. Breakfast:

Sausage, cheese eggs, shrimp and grits with gravy, biscuits, sausage gravy, juice and coffee.

Dinner:

Ham, potato salad, macaroni salad, corn, green beans, rolls, and coffee or tea.

And there will be finger food and munchies all day along with RumNog!!

Sounds like you have things in control Steve. I just got back from the farm and it is absolutely beautiful. Everything is snow covered, but the roads are icy, its about 24 degree here now but another front coming in tomorrow.

Today for lunch: Bacon, Eggs, fried taters, toast.

It was 78 yesterday, today it's 47!

Snow in the morning changing to freezing rain - not a real good forecast. UGH

High tomorrow is supposed to be 44.

Low supposed to be 43.

Well, its snowing and blowing out, with ice on the way, Church is cancelled, I feel like bundling up and heading for the farm but my wife says I should stay home and rest my back. This storm is suppose to go til 4am tomorrow morning. Tomorrow I am going to the farm, no matter what.

Cold rain, all day. No hunting here. It's a good day to cook something.
