Jan, try those greens with maple flavored bacon.My gal,who is a terrific campfire cook, bought some by mistake. Being all she had handy, she flavored the greens with them. WOW!! She made enough greens to feed an army, but 3 of us ate them all and were begging for more !! The best greens I have ever had, and I lived in Florida for 25 years !!

We are having deer and veggies soup. A real big one, so I can freeze some small containers for small meals later. Yum, yum.

I made a big pot of fresh veggie beef soup yesterday so it would be ready for today and tomorrow

Cold weather and a good soup go good together. Warms the body and gives you great healthy food.

Well, we ended up having Country Ham, Egg and Cheese on Biscuits (everything is better with cheese).

Gained to much weight lately: so I have been cutting down - Cereal in the morning, soup for lunch, a slimfast shake for supper - and that's about all. Lost 4 lb since the Crusie.

Ron, I've been wanting to put up a recipe for a Cajun Gumbo but I'll have to measure everything I use, first. You see I have been doing it for so long I just throw everything together without measuring.  The next one I cook I'll try measure.

The boys are swimming hard the last two weeks getting ready for a meet in St.Louis this weekend.  I am having a hard time feeding them!!  I asked them what they wanted for supper and my 9 year old Bryce, said dad I really want some meat!!  I said how does pot roast sound?  He said that will work!

My father was a bean salesman, well he sold B.F. Trappeys Cajun food products. I tell everyone my dad raised me on beans. Thing is I still love beans.

Blizzard conditions here today, snowing and blowing, up to 20 degree but dropping  to 4 tonight. I have to go get corn today.

Homemade Chili today.

Got home OK, used 4 wheel drive, roads drifting. I put a TM Salt Block on a shovel and pulled it back in the woods. 10-12" snow at the farm. Just 3 1/2 miles from the house. Good to be home - can't wait for the Chili.

It's supposed to sleet tonight and snow tomorrow. We are not use to this type weather here in south Louisiana. I am gonna cook a shrimp and Andouille Gumbo for supper. It will help keep us warm.

Suppose to get -9 here by morning. That's to cold. We had leftover Chili with Spaghetti in it. Man was that good.

It hit 67 here today. 

Weather guy on the radio said that we've got 100% chance of SNOW tomorrow into Wednesday...

I'm gonna have to make me a pair of snow shoes....lol Ken -9, that's just too cold. Please everyone, stay safe and warm.
