I know this is the KA-BAR Club and I hope you forgive this minor intrusion. But since this is a military knife I thought some of you may have knowledge I need. I have a customer who wants me to put a blade in a LF&C 1918 trench knife handle he has. I need the correct dimensions of the original blade. Thanks in advance for any help.

my kabar is probably the one knife i would never sell. that thing has been with me on so many trips and the wear and tear on it just makes me love it even more :D
  • Jake

I googled it. I can't tell much, but the sheath looks super cheap.

Ok Ka-Bar Collectors, whats going on with this group???? not one comment since early November. My excuse is that I've been busy going out on the hunt for Ka-Bar knives. I've found quite a few over the last 2 months. I am going to try and post pics of my new additions to my page asap.

So heres a kick in the butt for all of you other Ka-Bar collectors out there. LETS START CHATTING KA-BARS!!!! The first member who posts a comment gets an addaboy, or possibly an addagirl!

Yes Steve, I really respect KaBar for the military support they have shown, now and many years in the past also. I think Korea deserves more respect than our country has shown. Thank you for all those who have served and fought in Korea, many of us will never forget.

Ivars,...shoot me an email at: mikemay1957@gmail.com.....I might be able to help.

A Ka-Bar never looked so good. You should post a picture of all 3 Dogs, that you have, Ken. I think it would make a great photo. I might do that with my 3 real old Hobo's.

Small K-Bar I found at junk shop for $7.00 had aloose pommel and missing 3 washers, replaced washers and reset handle

The origanal sheath has a ladies name on it "Marina Kelly " I know nothing about her or the knife. It is a small very well made knife .Perfect for a lady

Hello there kabar lovers. I have recently rediscovered an old folding knife I believe belonged to my grandfather. I found it yesterday and took a closer look since I have started collecting knives.

To my delight, when I opened the blade I sat the Ka-bar stamp! However, there aren't any more markings to speak of. I was hoping someone might have some insight for me. Trying to figure out when it was made etc. thanks!

It's a 2179L GRIZZLY! If it says KA-BAR it was made after 1923, but almost certainly Pre - WWII. Probably in the 30s .To be sure I'd need to see the tang stamp (s) does it still work? If you don't understand what I mean by that, it was originally a SwitchBlade. Looks a little beat up, but all things considered, not to bad.Still a Great piece.I'm not sure about current values, but if working & no chips, splits, dents or damage it would probably be worth between Five or Ten Thousand Bucks!

Unfortunately the mechanism is no longer working. The blade is in great condition. Anyone have any idea where/if something like this can be repaired
