Dogs are just as important in my life as knives are! Yes sir ree, I have been in to AKC dogs shows for nearly 30 years now. My wife and I show Cardigan Welsh Corgis, a welsh herding dog. I am of Welsh ancestory and my wife is Scotch Irish. We both have come from farming families and so the Cardigan fit the bill for us years ago. We have had some wonderful success in the show ring over the years and continue to exhibit still. We have dogs being shown from our Kennel "Dragonpatch Cardigans" around the world. A dog we bred, has won best of breed at the world dog show three years in a row. We now both judge AKC shows and maybe someday when your watching the Westminster show in Feb you'll see one of us. We have shown dogs thier, but not judge YET!!!!!! LOL. check out our web page at www.dragonpatch.org Most of our dogs we started with were imported from New Zealand. We are very proud of them. When at the knife show, we often show them off by demostrating thier herding ability. You can throw a basketball across the field and we have two that will work as a team to herd it back to you directly. I think a demo video of this is on our site. It's amazing to watch. I love all dogs, but the Cardi is first in my heart. Thanks guys.
I have been notified by the Mountain Cur Assiation, that I have the only "Chocalate" colored Cur female ever. A big time Cur breeder, contacted me last week and has offered a great deal for her. It seems that a few weeks back, his dog had a litter of pups, with two "Chocalate" male pups. He is frantic to get his hands on my "Chocalate" female, to breed to his males and hopefully, get a bunch of "Chocalate" puppies. I have discussed this with the girls and we have decided to make the deal. I can't tell ya'll what the deal is but ole Pawpaw is gonna do alright. It's better the dog is in the hands of a big time breeder, that can help the breed in general. They can do things this old backwoods breeder can't possibly do. It's nice to know that the big boys are so interested in my dogs. I'll post a picture of ole Sally, when I get the chance.
That's a good idea Miss Jan but Sally is a pure Kemmer Stock Mountain Cur, she has all the great Kemmer Curs in her pedigree, top and bottum. The Kemmer Curs are large dogs, [not as big as Ricks dog or Steve's puppy] I can't handle the large dogs anymore. Years ago, the breeders of the Kemmer Curs, cross bred the Kemmer Curs with the Kemmer Feist [a smaller dog] after years of breeding they have developed a breed of their own. There is two names for these new smaller dogs, 1st. Cajun Squirrels Dogs and 2nd. Kemmer Tennessee Mountain Hybreds. I will get a couple of the smaller dogs to start with. One a very well trained little female and the other a young started male. There will be a few other compensations on their part, that I'd rather not disclose at this time. I will be rewarded well for my contribution to the breed is all I'd like to say at this time. We will really miss ole Sally. I'll post some pictures later.
Well, Miss Sally is gone and we miss her already, that's all I can say. My kennel will be okay, my dogs are strong in their hunting. I have made a little sacrifise to better the breed, I have come out okay and the people that have her now are great people and have one of the top Kemmer Cur kennels in the USA. Pictures will come soon.
Jack seems to have settled in very well. Briar may be aware of the blind side but must trust him to take care of himself. Briair's not far away but lets Jack go do the Jack things LOL
We're back. It was horrible.....as far as she was concerned. Got stuck in the butt, stuck in the arm for blood, and a toenail clipping. She's in perfect health. The girls at the vet gave her yummies......she ONLY takes the yummies AFTER it's over and it's time to go! LOL! Now I'll pull up a seat to watch the drama queen.
Well, it seems we have had an accident. My male dashound and my grand daughter's poodle, started dating, without our knowledge. We now have 5 puppies, they should look really weird. We have found homes for most of them. I am not sure what to call them. How about, Dash-Poo...lol
We will take some pictures when they get a little older. I am really not happy this has happened but if they all go to happy homes then I'll be okay with it.
"I am really not happy this has happened but if they all go to happy homes then I'll be okay with it."
Robert, that would be my worry if we had puppies. TOO many stories of animals being mistreated nowadays! How in the world can a person mistreat an animal? We treat our animals like royalty. LOL!
Yes, Craig, our dogs are treated very well. I have 7 dogs not counting my grand daughters little poodle. When I breed one of my dogs it is a planned breeding and I have people waiting for a pup, ahead of time. My dogs are all pure bred, so this cross breeding was a surprise but they will get the same respect and treatment any of our other puppies would get. They are very cute, I'll try post a picture of them if I can.
I was out walking my dog Kane yesterday. He's an all white Husky with blue eyes. Walking past a yard sale people there not only had to pet him but get their photo with him. He's a rock star!
LOL! That's funny Pat! Samson and Sophie could make a good barking team!
By the way, Sophie has to have an operation in each eye to get her third eyelids back in place. They were dislodged from her scratching from allergies.

We've increased our family size .. this is the new kid in town .......
By the size of those feet .. he's some growing to do.
He's a light weight, for the moment.
.. for perspective ..
He's both taller & lighter than Jack.
